At Kasimir’s hurt response, Randolph opened his mouth to defend himself, but stopped. Anything he said just seemed to dig the hole he was in deeper. Randolph found his blush intensifying at the woman’s suggestion, and he found himself the target of the most adorable and irresistible pleading he had ever seen. Before he could give in to it though, the woman linked her arm through each of theirs and began to lead them to the door. Randolph was a bit thrown by the over familiarity, and at the unexpected touch, he tensed and his free hand twitched toward his holster, but he quickly realized it wasn’t an attack, and relaxed. “I… Maybe?...I don’t even know your name, ma’am?

If people could have puppy dogs eyes, the blonde one would have them. He had the pouting pleading face down to the T. Lilith looked over to this 'Randy' to see what he had to say.

Oh how rude of her to not introduce herself, very rude. "Oh, sorry. My name is Lilith. Nice to meet you Randy and?" Lilith offered a smiled, she switched her gaze to the blonde one before looking through the door windows to see in the distance to dark clouds. It just wouldn't do if she was caught in that, she particularly loved her umbrella And if those clouds are indication the winds that will come with it should it spread like a disease over the entire sky of Farefield it wouldn't be too kind to her Umbrella. Her umbrella? She had forgotten it over at the table.. excusing herself she went over to the table she had and grabbed it from where it was leaning on the wall. And practically skipped back over to two after lingering over there for abit.

"Can't forget this.." She released the latch on her Umbrella, and opened the door with her free hand. When she swung the Umbrella out it opened. "Do you have a car or shall we be walking?"

---

He couldn't answer that, atleast not why he was there. "Was I in your room?" He repeated slowly, watching her. "I was." He turned back to the fire to poke it, make sure it was still going. "Do you want to... tell me how you got into the situation I found you in?" He prodded her with a question now. They were suppose to go to her house breakfast, but a wedged was drove into that plan to foil it. The girl had to craving something to drink, actual water or something. Or maybe food.. which he doesn't really have here for a obvious reason. "But before you answer, do you care for a drink?" He paused for bit before adding the last part. "Water that is."

Aiden thought about what the mad had said to him. Just exactly what kind of power does he have within him deep down that he might not be able to control? Whether or not he trusted him there was truth to his words. Aiden wanted to find out what this power was, who exactly the other man was and why his presence felt so odd to him. It made him feel uneasy. And it was clear that Rebecca wasn't exactly the prime goal it was she possessed. Aiden wondered where it was...

Sasha looked over to Aiden when the Rebecca had suggested he was in her room. And she shook her head disdainfully, some things about him would never change.

He admitted to being in her room. Hmm. Why though? It couldn't be that Aiden liked her obsessively. There was no way. He didn't know her. And he clearly wasn't trying to drink up all of her blood. He'd had plenty of chances to that if that had been the goal. Before she could ask him why, he countered her with a question, two of them.

The second one caught her off guard and she looked at him, appalled. Blood? Oh, water. Of course. She thought about it for a moment. Mostly she felt normal. Aiden's blood must have done that. Given its full amount of time, she'd probably be feeling better than normal. Her expression relaxed. "No, thank you," she said politely. Just because he was a vampire, and the situation was a little crazy, didn't mean Becca would forget her manners.

She had turned her body entirely to face Aiden, sitting at the edge of the couch with the blanket still covering her legs. She thought back on his question. How did she get into the situation, on the road? Hmm. Could she even recall? She appeared in thought, and shook her head. "I don't know. I was just driving and I couldn't really see because of the rain."

The rain which had yet to let up. "I know those roads, there's never anyone out there this time of year, so I guess I might have been going too fast." At first she felt like a child admitting she'd done something wrong. Speeding in the rain. But she looked at Aiden, and recalled that he didn't exactly drive the speed limit either.

There really was no need for a vampire with reflexes that would keep him out of a wreck, and an ability to make a police officer forget the incident, to follow laws. She continued. "Then all of a sudden there was a woman in the road. I swerved to miss her and my car ran off the road."

She recalled the sound of the tires sliding over the road, hitting the gravel side and spinning into a tree. The sound of metal bending and glass shattering. The whole thing had seemed in slow motion, and that was how she recalled it, too. So many thoughts in such a short time caused that probably.

"I climbed out, after my car hit a tree." The bronco had almost wrapped itself around a large tree. It was a miracle that it had been in the backseat, and not at Becca's door. She recalled climbing out, with something wet trickling down the side of her face and matting her hair. Glass and debris fell from her clothes.

"I didn't hurt really," she said, just thinking about it. That was thanks to the adrenaline, and shock. "But then I looked for her, the vampire," she said, not sure how to use the word in from of Aiden. Perhaps vampire was to Aiden as midget was to a small person. "I didn't know she was one, and I thought she might be hurt," she continued. "But she was at the party last night."

Really, Becca wouldn't know if she'd talked to Clara or Carmen, they looked identical, and she didn't know there were two of them anyway. She thought for a long moment and then sighed. "The rest is obvious," she said, not wanting to relive it by telling the story.

Had the woman been stalking Becca? Was it so easy? Maybe for a vampire. She studied Aiden. He'd been able to get into her own bedroom easily enough. But why. His intentions weren't to harm Becca. Then what were they? "Why did you come to the camp today?"

He turned back around, leaning back on his hands once more to listen to her. Well that would certainly explain why the truck was hugging the tree, it was the result of Rebecca trying avoid what she that was human. And also why he didn't find her in the car, he had thought something entirely different. Like maybe the vampire pulled her out of the car, and then the unmanned vehicle slammed into the tree or something. Nice to know that didn't happen.

When she told him she was the one from the party he narrowed his eyes. The attack and everything had to be her doing how... distasteful and amateurish. All that would accomplish is probably alert some hunters and he didn't need them poking around.

"I found your wings in my car, thought I'd return them to you. Why do you think I came to see you today?" He asked her in return.

He was keeping something from her. She could tell. Though he may have been able to play others, Becca could see through those multi colored eyes. She could see the secrets, though she wouldn't know what they were. How many secrets could one vampire hold, she wondered. Centuries worth maybe.

She shrugged. "Well, to return a pair of trashed wings, to someone you hardly know, in the middle of nowhere in a rainstorm..." She was watching him closely. It just seemed a little much just to try and return some junk to some stranger. He wasn't going to answer that question with the entire truth. Fine. She'd try another.

"Why did you save me?" How he even knew to come back was beyond her. But why it would really matter was another thing. A thing she wanted to know. She was a stranger, and he was a predator. None of it was adding up. Those multi colored eyes watched her in return. They burned through her with a knowledge of things she had never known.

He feinted being appalled for the accusation she didn't say quite out loud. "What, you don't believe me?" He smirked, but it didn't last long because of her next question. Aiden didn't say anything for awhile. "Why?" He asked her. "I couldn't very well let you die, you owed me Breakfast." He didn't exactly tell her what she wanted to know, the real reason he went back for her. There was a few and breakfast didn't even make the list. She was the holder of a pendant so many wanted their hands on, even him. Did she even know what it did? How important it is? How she can touch the stone but he can't? A thought just occurred to him then. He could tell her about it then she would be able to defend herself somewhat but that would be an inconvenience for him if she were to use it on him. He needs her on his side first.

She was special, her unique was defined by that Aura she possess and that's what led him to her in the first place. The aura, her, and the pendant all of it combined with his purpose is what makes him protect her. And new agreement to help his kin will enforce the desire to do so. Thinking back to when and why he saved her. He did feel something when he saw the truck and her there in the street. But what was it? The man alluded to it being love and compassion. Aiden looked up to the ceiling. Love? For her? No.. it couldn't be love...compassion maybe. Why... how could he love her? She was just a pathetic human someone who he could use. She was so fragile. Something that needed to be protected. Aiden's thoughts drifted to when the moonlight graced her features. Although she wasn't in the best of appearance, her features and those lovely eyes suited her costume. She had certain beauty about her.

He didn't like where his thoughts were going so he stopped thinking entirely and looked back at her, moving his legs from under him to in front of him. "You needed help and I came to save the Damsel in Distress. Would you prefer I had not saved you at all?"

Becca almost laughed. Because she owed him breakfast? He was being funny, and it was funny. Did he even eat real food? He was thinking, silently. She watched him in thought as the glow of the fire danced over his face. She couldn't deny that he was incredibly attractive, in more ways than by his appearance alone.

He was mysterious; unknown. He was smart, and strong. His voice, always so smooth and controlled... He was unlike any boy she'd ever known. Yet he was drawn to her, too. Like the others. If she didn't know any better, she'd think there was some kind of strange universal bestowance of magnetism placed within her that drew people in. It was strange how everyone seemed to adore her so instantly.

Perhaps Aiden was just another victim of the universe's huge joke. He brought her out of her own thoughts by asking her another question. She frowned, "Well, no." Of course she didn't want to die. But she wasn't a damsel. She didn't feel like one anyway. She was physically fit from years of dancing, independant from years of having to take care of herself and her brother, smart and the head of her class in high school. No, she didn't feel like a damsel at all. Not until yesterday anyway.

She supposed her life had always been a little messy, no matter how hard she tried to control it. Becca was always in one strange mess or another. Still though, she'd never had any sort of hero. Not until Aiden. Is that what he was? Her hero? It seemed a strange title for a creature of the night, for someone who'd just ripped the limbs from another...

"So what, you go around saving random strangers from your own kind often? Then sneak into their rooms at night to watch them sleep?" It seemed she wasn't going to let that one go. He was in there for a reason and he'd come to see her at the camp for more than a pair of broken wings. She wanted to know what those reasons were.

If he didn't tell her now, she'd find out sooner or later anyway, so she wasn't too hard pressed to beat the information out of him. Could she do that? Probably not. He was probably made out of some invincible vampire material. Okay, that was a little out there. Still, she didn't think pounding a vampire into the ground would be easy, no matter how easy Aiden had made it look.

"As a matter of fact I do. It's my day time job I have you know, during the evening I slay dragons and rescue princess while my night time job is stalking graveyards for wandering victims. And sneaking into their rooms well.." He shrugged "It's part of the job have to make sure there are no shadow demons lingering about. Nasty ones those are." He could tell she wasn't going to let it go, she was a persistent one. But he was just as stubborn, he wont let that information go that easily.

Aiden got up from his spot and walked over to a covered window, he moved aside the curtain to look outside. There wasn't really any change. "Great weather for a sleep over and spooky stories don't you think?" He closed the curtain and turned back towards her. "Ever since you were alittle strange things seemed to happen around you. Even now. Ever wonder why things seem to go 'wrong' around you?" She should know this.

A smartass. Aiden was a total smartass. Dragons and shadow demons. He was avoiding her question once again. She huffed, but he was getting up. Becca kept her eyes on him as he crossed the old floor to the window, pulling back the curtain to look out at the rain.

She raised an eyebrow to give Aiden a questioning look when he mentioned a sleepover. She was pretty sure she'd never had a sleepover with a vampire, and couldn't imagine it being the wisest of choices. Besides, it was still morning anyway, and unless this rain kept up and they got flooded in, Becca was going to have to go home at some point. In fact, she needed to remember to call Matt, who'd begin to worry if she wasn't home by lunch.

Not to mention, her cell phone had been broken and left behind in the Bronco, which someone could come across. They'd call the police, they would trace the plates, then they'd go to Becca's house where Becca wouldn't be, and all hell would break loose. A search team would be assembled, dogs would scan the surrounding forest... Becca couldn't forget to call home soon.

He was asking her if she ever wondered why strange things happened around her, and went wrong. How did he know that about her? That her whole life had been like that? If he hadn't gotten her attention before, he had it now. She turned on the couch to face his new spot in the room, clutching the blanket, almost afraid to hear what he had to say.

After everything that had already happened over the last two days, she was sure there was no good news to be heard. She nodded. "I just thought it was luck. Bad luck, maybe good luck that things weren't worse..." Well they were now. She'd almost been killed today.

It became curious when the Old One spoke of keys and the lycanthrope. It did not slink away. It stayed and returned its gaze and attention to the Old One. Then to the unconscious ape. Key. She had a key.

It watched closer now. It watched as the girl was taken. It was tempted to follow. But it could not. It would not. But it could not let this key fall to the Old One. If the girl had the key she too would have to be watched.

The young one and the girl were gone now. But it still did not leave. Its gaze was plastered on the Old One. Curious. It had said things that had troubled the young one. Perhaps he already knew it was here. Perhaps not. It was unimportant. It turned to leave. It had to go back. It would deal with this later.

~~~*~*~*~~~
The scratching was growing louder. It was driving Audrey up the wall. She had gone back inside after the girl had left, went through everything she could, tried to track down some clothing. Maybe a spare coat. She never expected any scratching.
It hard started quiet, a simple light scrape over the old windows. She had ignored it. Then had escalated even more, becoming light taps and long whines. She had gone outside, but had smelled and saw nothing. Only rain and mud.
She was back inside now, pacing about, checking any container she found. Her wounds had all but healed, the puncture in her leg starting to close and mend. It was bearable to actually walk on it now.
Another long whine scratches over one of the windows, Audrey's head snapping over to glare at it. There was a dark shape just beyond, blurred by the window's rain slicked panes. The noise that left her throat was deep and angry, lips curling as she made her way to the door.
She threw it open and made her way outside, rounding the corner to confront the mystery figure. Only to find no one there. Just the mud and rain and the way-too-close forest. She growled and made her way back inside.
It was a few minutes later when the scratching started again, this time at the door. A steady scrabble, like a dog begging to be let back in. Audrey was seated behind the desk, leaning back in the chair and glaring at the door. She ignored it.
But it grew louder and more insistent, the sound finally growing to the point where it filled the room and echoed in her head like drums. It felt like it was coming from all around her.
She couldn't take it anymore. She didn't realize she was growling until she stood up, the chair crashing backward and the desk lurching as she slammed her hands into the wood. The growl had rose to a full snarl, her teeth strong fangs as forming claws dug rivets into the wood. The scratching had fallen silent.
Her snarl lowered in volume, eventually lowering to a low rumble as she slumped forward, laying her forehead on the wood. Then it came again. Closer. It was coming from the desk. There was only a moment after that there was a sharp pain in her ankle.
She shot up and, with the sound of cracking bone, popping skin, and the crash of what she assumed was the boxy computer, she flew over the desk. She was mostly wolf before she hit the ground, the sudden pain and the earlier agitation forcing the change almost instinctively. And she was mostly instincts now, so little control of her shift forcing the beast at the forefront of her thoughts. And the beast was yelling run.
So she did, turning and running and crashing through the front window. She ignored the shards of glass, ignored the pain in both her hind legs. She just needed to get away. These woods were bad. Very bad. So she would run, sporting a new cut on her leg. Even though it wasn't really a cut. It was a bite wound. Small. It looked like it was caused by a small child.
((In which I try to do something with Audrey and it ends with something way too long.))
"I don't know if I would consider it good luck, more like bad luck if you believe in that sort of thing. You see, you unfortunate enough to be born with something and into your family." He stopped short wondering if he should have added that bit about the family, it was too late now to take it back without using his powers on her and what fun would that be. "You do know what a Aura is?" He didn't wait for an answer and kept going. "Your Aura is.. strange I never sensed anything like it before. It's what stirred me in the tomb you found me in. We can talk about why I was there later if you like. Anyway, your Aura it's... how can I explain this to you. Think about it this way... everything supernatural is drawn to you. Your like a a beacon that signals ships to land or a light that attracts moths." He paused for a moment.
"That's why wherever you went trouble to seemed to be following you. I wouldn't be surprised if those around you were accusing you and maybe possibly calling you a witch or something or other." He watched her, she was absorbing it all in, he knew she was thinking but didn't know what. "And.. yes that's what caused the incident at the party I bet, and today."
Something in her family. The pendant! Was he talking about the pendant? She'd heard stories from her great grandparents about the pendant. But she'd always thought them stories, until now. What did this mean? Was she supposed to follow in her great grandparents footsteps and protect the jewel? And kill beings like Aiden?
She could never kill someone! But she would try her best to protect the pendant. Becca needed to do some research. She didn't know the first thing about how to protect it, or herself, against creatures of the night. And, she was really curious as to what the pendant did, that made it so valuable.
An aura? The distinctive atmosphere or quality that surrounds and is generated by a person, thing, or place? She nodded, yes, she knew what an aura was. Becca frowned deeply at his next words. Her aura was strange? Was there something wrong with her?
Little did she know, it was all in the curse. Wile Becca's family was to protect the ruby, at some point in the generations, a baby would be born. That baby's aura would grow as he/she did, and at one point become large enough to attract the creatures of the night. Then it would be his/her duty to kill them.
The curse specified that this would happen, if the world became too overrun with creatures of the night filled with evil, and cruel intentions. Unfortunately for Becca, it happened to be her. Fortunately for Becca, thought she didn't know yet, her brother was already preparing to take on the role of slayer.
He assumed that people might be thinking she herself was some creature of the night. He was incredibly wise. She nodded. It was true. She had been accused of being something of the night since she'd moved here. She was sure rumors had gotten no better, since the party incident.
Becca sat there for a long moment, silent. So these things were all her fault, when it came down to it. The people at the party who died, died because she lured a threat there. What an awful feeling. She turned away from Aiden on the couch, silently, to be in her own thoughts.
There was a lot to think about. After a minute or two, she looked at Aiden again. "You want my pendent?" It wasn't as much of a question, as it was an accusation. She thought she'd figured it out, why he was in her room. Shortly before her parents came home and he disappeared, he'd asked about the ruby. That's why he'd saved and protected her. How else would he ever learn where the pendent was hidden?
Peter, walked back into the front of the store, he had changed out of his soaking tweed suit, and into a sleek dark pinstriped double breasted jacket, and matching trousers, adorned by a crimson red tie, and fedora. As he walked in from the rear storeroom, he lifted his arm to wipe his mouth, a slight red stain could be seen on his shirt cuff. Peter seemed younger, straighter. He walked to his desk and pulled out a long cigar, and a cutter, skull shaped, that bit off the monte cristo end. Peter lit it with a long match, and began to smoke, sat in his chair. There were some pleasure these humans could create that were worthy of his time, not many, but a few. He had for the time being taken care of the girl, he just hoped this male vampire could stop her falling prey to any other troublesome creature in this god forsaken place. The vampire never asked Peter his name, this annoyed Peter a bit, he was used to people poking their nose into his affairs, and being curious about himself, he was not usually interested in names himself, more interested in what value they were, for the time being this vampire was valuable. But maybe his worth could be more, maybe if he got back his book he could make this vampire a more potent protector? For the time being he would use his existing powers to reach out. But that could wait, for a few minutes.
Peter had watched the pair disappear, before heading back, but he knew he hadn't been alone, something else remained watchful, Peter had only a sense of something, what or who he even he couldn't tell, that must mean however it was something strong, almost elemental. Anything that Peter didn't know worried him, he wasn't afraid, but the unknown couldn't be planned for, and all the worked out plans could be scuppered. No use going over the matter anymore, he couldn't get a clear picture about what the feeling was at this time. He would just have to be vigilant.
He needed to contact someone, that would have the sight to read his book, he had placed in the store down the street just as that young witch had walked in, he placed it on a shelf among other tat and junk souvenirs. He hadn't even needed to compel her to pick it up, she must have sensed its power deep down. He wondered how long until it's power rubbed off on her? Until she gained the sight to read it, but it was taking too long he was growing inpatient.
He may have to gain assistance from somewhere, he began to form ideas in his mind.
Smart one she was, she read between the lines, he could tell she was going to be fun. Even though Rebecca had formed a question it wasn't really it a question she was accusing him. He could tell she was steering to the question about the room. "The Pendant. Why would you suggest such a thing. When clearly you and I know what I really want." It was as much of the truth as it was a lie. He didn't want the pendant but for what it could do, what it was designed for. But was wanting what it could do or the pendant really two different things? It was a fine line.
Aiden walked over to the couch and leaned in towards her, he reached out and dragged a finger under her chin pushing up just alittle to raise he head alittle bit before he stopped touching her. "Pie." He couldn't help but smile because of her expression she gave him. And to make sure she didn't keep prodding his entire demeanor changed, even his face. It looked more stern and unforgiving. "Don't go poking your nose too much where it doesn't belong. Don't go assuming things about me when you know nothing... anything about me short of what you've seen that I shown you. You don't know the first thing about me, you probably think I shine and sparkle in the sunlight or explode at it's first kiss. Hell you probably think I sleep like as a bat hanging from a pillar in a dark corner don't you? Oh and wait.. don't tell me you think I have a black cape with red lining and a huge ridiculous collar and wear a old styled tuxedo with a ruffled shirt and walk around going 'I vant to suck your blood!'." He stopped because he realized he went too far and started to rant.
Well in any case it worked better then he expected for she didn't even have a verbal response for him. Good. He sighed, and turned from her. He couldn't let that be last thing he'd say to her all day or have that being the last thing she heard from him. Who knows how'd she react to him. "I want to show you something."
She stared at him questioningly. No, she didn't know what he really wanted, considering she'd thought it was the pendant. But now that he was walking towards her on the couch and leaning in close, she was beginning to think it was something other than the pendant, maybe her blood, or maybe... well could vampires actually do that?
Becca clutched the blanket to herself anyway. He'd reached forward and gingerly brought her chin up so that she was looking him in the eye before keeping his hands to his self once more. Then he said 'pie'. That was all. Pie? Like, that was what he truly wanted?
She must have made a face, because he was wearing that amused expression at her expense once again. It didn't last long though. He righted himself and his entire playful, if that's what it had been, demeanor seemed to change. Then he was chastising her.
Becca's eyes widened slightly at first, then she began to frown. He was in her room after all. It kind of was her business. She sulked for the briefest of moments, but he continued relentlessly. She looked away from him, frowning, but unwilling to say anything to anger him any further. He'd been right about Becca not knowing anything about him, and she could tell at least that she was pushing buttons too dangerous to push.
Still, she sulked again. Pffft. She hadn't thought he sparkled. And she'd never really thought about him with a Dracula accent before, though she probably would sometimes now. He had been spot on about the bat thing though. Still, he didn't have to be so mean. She stared into the fire.
After a moment of silence, he turned his back to her. She looked curiously in his direction. He wanted to show her something? Was he going to morph into a bat? No, he was walking away. Oh.
Reluctantly, Becca pushed the blanket onto the couch and stood. She looked once at the large wolf by the fire, and then in Aiden's direction. With which one would she take her chances? She began walking, slowly, following Aiden. She was being cautious, afraid of what the rooms of his home would hold.
Unsure of what vampires didn't need in a house, Becca was also unsure of what they did need. A refrigerator full of blood? Blood jelly, blood butter, blood beer, perhaps? Or did vampires just drink the stuff blandly all the time? Was there a bed? Maybe a coffin instead? Were they headed for a dungeon?
((Lol this was Becca when she thought he might morph into a bat: ))
(Here my floor plans! First Floor, Second Floor. Going to place the fireplace from the Great Room into the FML. Liv (family living room) instead though.)
Aiden waited for her before he would begun his journey upstairs. There was two doors, or rather archways leading into and out of the family living room. He took the one on the left walk down three small steps and went straight for the stairs. If she looked around she would find on her right the front door, and a hall leading to the other side of the house. And on her left she would find the master bedroom which had lavish furniture with in, and a small storage room which was slightly open as well which laid in between the family living room and ther master bedroom. It was too dark to see what was in there though. The railings of the stairs were a deep dark cherry wood color and it was shiny due from the gloss. The stairs themselves were covered in burgundy carpet. If these was any other persons house the wall along the stairs would be cluttered full of picture but no he only had one that they came face to face with at the top of the first set of stairs. The picture was framed with care. And it almost occupied the whole space vertically.
In front of them they had another set of stairs leading to where they were and on the right there was a single set going upstairs and they took those. It lead to balcony area where you could see pretty just the front of the house downstairs. He kept going straight, on the left was a closed room and before that a empty small space as if something should go there and it had alot of socket along the walls. The room they entered was pretty wide, it had storage closets, and those little storage units everywhere. He walked over to a small antique looking desk ways, and on top of it were piles of journals, but that's not what he was reaching for. He opened the draw and pulled out a gold antique looking crest ring. He turned around to Rebecca and held out his hand. "Here take a look at this. This here ring is the seal of my family. Although extremely old I took great care of it. Now you know alittle bit about me, but it doesn't much doesn't though?" He let it fall into her hands as he walked off to the other side of the room and opened a two double doors (:3 I'm placing it next to the attic door) and went inside to turn on a light. There were all kinds of clothes, trinkets, accessories everywhere.
Aiden picked out a specific outfit and quickly put it on and walked back outside to meet Rebecca. He held arms out as if in a presentation. "Perhaps this would be more helpful than the ring? My...mother made this." He was wearing some type of clothing that was clearly from the renaissance period of the 12th century.
Rebecca followed Aiden through the house, pleased to not find anything too unusual. At the top of the stairs, she stopped to look at the picture. She hadn't seen any other pictures, this one must have had some significant value. It seemed very old. He was still walking, so she continued on silently.
She followed him into a large room. It seemed like a storage room of some kind. They walked to stand in front of an antique looking desk, with piles of journals scattered about. Becca ran her fingers over the intricate designs of a leather cover. Were these Aiden's journals? How funny that she kept one, too. Only, she had but one. Aiden had many... He must have been keeping them for, centuries...
He was holding his hand out now, and there in his palm was a gold ring. She took it with great care, only looking away from it briefly to look at him when his called it his family's crest. "It's beautiful," she commented. He was trying to let her know more about him? After he'd just chastised her for knowing little. It was sweet, in a strange way. She could tell that Aiden didn't let people in often. This was some kind of honor, and that was how she treated it.
When he walked away, she closed her hand around the ring, not wanting to drop it, as her gaze followed him into a closet-like room. After a moment, he'd begun to remove his clothes, though he'd begun moving so quickly, inhumanly, that she didn't see anything. One moment he'd begun to remove his vest, and the next, he was stepping out of the closet looking like something from a Renaissance Festival.
No, that wasn't giving him enough credit. Aiden owned that outfit in a special way. It wasn't a costume, and it fit him well, shedding a new light on who he was, and how old he was. His mother had made it for him. Becca was rendered somewhat speechless at how handsome he became in the strange outfit, not of a style of this day in age.
"It's amazing," she said. "Your mother must have been a great seamstress," she added, having moved forward, reaching out to touch the old fabrics of a time period long before her. She recalled the picture at the top of the stairs and was beginning to wonder if that woman had been Aiden's mother.
Suddenly she'd become awkwardly aware that, while he was dressed so dreamily like something out of a 14th century based movie, she stood there in a shirt. She hadn't seemed to notice before. She tugged at the bottom of it. How had she even gotten into this in the first place?
Peter stood looking into the mirror, every now and then tilting his head this way or that, he was definitely looking younger, but the lines were still there. But it never appeared Peter was looking at himself in that glass, but something else... He turned and stepped slowly to his desk, and took a decanter from amongst the pots with quills, and jars that were strewn across it. Filled with a dark brown liquid he poured it into two short glasses that lay on the desk, one placed on either side. As if for two people. He then slumped down into the high backed chair on the further side, and took a slow sip from the glass, and picked up the smouldering cigar from an ashtray. He lay the glass down gently, and held the cigar in his mouth, he opened a drawer and carefully held a small doll in his hand, with short blond hair and two different coloured eyes. One a bright amber. Peter laid it upon his desk, and from the same drawer took out a clear plastic bag, inside was something deep red moving, slowly contracting, surrounded by red liquid. He opened it and reached into the bag, and pulled out something fleshy, still pumping in his hand, blood poured over his hand over his wrist, and onto the desk over the doll. Peter tilted his hand hovering over the doll, and with a squelch squeezed. The heart ripped open as the last drops of crimson settled onto the desk, and the remnant clung to Peters hand. He took the cigar in his other hand,and laid it back onto the ashtray
"That should help your strength for now spawn"
Peter then held his hand to his face and and ran his tongue down his palm and wrist. Before wiping it across his other sleeve.
He placed the doll on his shelf next to the opal pendant. Slipped his jacket off, and whipped the remaining ogre onto it, and threw it into the corner. Took a towel from the back room, and tossed it onto the desk. Before sitting back down, and peered towards the door waiting.
This was both new and hard for him. Letting someone in, showing them things. Aiden didn't move when she reached out to touch his clothing. He seemed to be lost in thought. He was thinking about his mother Elizabeth.. not only was she a great seamstress but a great mother as well. He remembered when she gave it to him, it was the first outfit she had made for him. And certainly wasn't the last, his mother loved making clothes and she had gotten plenty request from all walks of life. She never did turn away a peasant just because they were low class or they had no coin. Of course she didn't give it to them for free they had to run errands for her to pay for their clothes. Life was great but it didn't last forever, especially that one day. Aiden was frowning by now.
Sometime during the reverie he started looking off to the side towards the stairs but at nothing in particular. When he realized this he looked at Rebecca. "Here let me show you what else she has made." He walked into the closet and motioned for her to follow him. It was a very spacious walk-in closet filled from top to bottom of things collected over the years. He was standing in the back in front of rack filled with clothes. And it was the way that rack presented that made it different from the rest. It looked... neater, it was sort of decorated to say the least. "Have a look." He turned halfway to her and motioned towards the rack. It wasn't just full of boys and mens clothes but girls and women as well. "If you find something you like, would you like to try it on? If you do.. there's a mirror over there in the corner."
Aiden had lost himself in thought. Becca watched him, curious as to what it was he was thinking. He'd developed a frown. Had Becca said something to upset him? She didn't think so. He was recalling something, though she might not calling it reminiscing, not with that look that saddened the features of his face.
Becca wondered of the things he'd seen. He'd lived a long time, and must have seen many changes in the world, many wars, too much death... She was brought from her own thoughts when Aiden returned his gaze to her. He wanted to show her more things his mother had made, and had turned to walk back into the closet.
She followed curiously. The closet was so very large, and filled with clothes. They walked to a rack that looked like something from a movie set. It was beautiful. This must have been where Aiden retrieved the outfit he currently wore. He motioned for her to look, and she was eager. She'd only ever seen costumes like this, not real clothes from the era.
Becca had no sooner made it to stand in front of the clothes when Aiden offered for Becca to try something on. She looked at him, blinking owlishly with those deep blue eyes. He was such a mystery. So secretive, and angry at her one minute, then showing her things his mother had made, and letting her in the next.
But she couldn't! These clothes were so old, and probably wouldn't fit her anyway. She'd begun gently sifting through them. They were so beautiful and expertly crafted. Maybe she could try on just one...
Of the variety of men's, boy's, girl's and women's clothing there, there were dresses. Some dresses looked made for royalty. Another looked like a wedding dress. Had it been his mother's? She dared not touch that one. Her fingers felt over the soft fabrics of a dress that seemed suited for a fair maiden of the era, and something less intricate or expensive looking. This was the one she'd try.
It was too beautiful and Renaissance-y not too. She couldn't resist it. Aiden had left the closet quietly, Becca hadn't even heard him go. She took the opportunity to slip off the large shirt she'd been wearing, and into the old dress, with great care. It smelled of a time not familiar to her, and it fit her, perfectly.
There were two pieces; one a flowing white dress that fit tightly around the middle and flared out around the bottom, and a separate blue piece that went over the dress and tied around the middle. It was a deep blue, that matched her eyes. The dress accented her skin, her hair and brought out those sapphire orbs that gleamed at herself in the mirror. It was as if the dress had been made specifically for her.
She was in awe over it, twirling once in the tall mirror. Her long wavy hair hung low, only further adding to the look. When was the last time Aiden had seen anyone in these clothes? Becca emerged from the closet carefully, looking like she'd stepped right out of 12th century literature. She watched Aiden quizzically for his reaction, hoping she'd not made a poor choice.
Lilith? Randy knew that is some of the stories, Lilith had been the first wife of Adam. In those stories, she had refused to submit to him and seperated from him because of it. In some of the stories she was the mother of demons that killed babies, in others the mother of witches. He was a little thrown for a second, but he reminded himself that it wasn't an uncommon name. He followed her gaze to the window, and saw the even darker clouds in the distance. He winced, wondering if walking were really the best option.
He thought about the options as Lilith retrieved her umbrella, and wondered how a simple offer to show her to the antiques store had evolved into … whatever this was. When she returned and opened the door he winced a little at the chilled air that came in. While he hadn't minded in the heated resturant, the cold made him very aware of the fact that his clothes were still damp.
Lilith's question echoed his earlier thoughts, and Randolph shook his head. “I only have the patrol car, and I doubt you want to ride in the back of a police car.”
Aiden was looking around the room for something, he just couldn't recall exactly where he put it in this room. Off in the corner of the room closest to the stairs he could see something dark purple and glossy, maybe that was it? He walked over there and picked up the dark purple object, just when Rebecca came outside, he turned to look at her. She had chosen to wear something, and it was just...perfect. The dress along with her wavy hair complimented her skin perfectly. And those eyes, they somehow seemed to sparkle. Aiden was in awe, and because of that his facial features softened as he looked at her.
Aiden hid the purple object behind his back, and moved alittle closer. With his free hand it looked like he want to reach out and just run his hand through a strand of hair and pull it gently towards, but his hand stopped and smiled. "You look beautiful... the dress it fits you so perfectly." He wanted to say more but he just left it at that. If anything could describe this moment for him it be the sun and the moon both setting and 50 million rainbows all over the place. Clearing his throat he pulled the purple object from behind him, and it turns out it was a violin. The violin had a small picture (where the uk b is) of a dragon. "This is the other thing I wanted to show you, took my alittle bit to find it... let's see if it still plays, shall we?" Aiden raised the bottom of the violin towards his neck and placed his chin on the chin plate. He detached the bow which can be conveniently and easily attached to the violin. And he started to play a song.
When Aiden turned around, Becca's heart jumped. He was still such a mystery, and she was unsure still of his intentions, as well as hoping she hadn't brought back uncomfortable memories in this dress. His features softened, she could see it in his multicolored eyes. What a relief.
He'd crossed the room, hiding something behind his back first, though she didn't pay attention to what it was. Becca was intrigued by Aiden, curious, and more in awe of what he was over being in fear of it. She was too busy watching his graceful movements as he came towards her. His hand reached out, but then closed. Had he been reaching for her? Her cheeks reddened at the thought, and at his compliment.
No sooner was he pulling the secret from behind his back. It was a violin. Sapphire eyes lit up. She'd always adored the sound of a violin, she'd always wished she'd had more time to learn to play one. Could Aiden play it? He began to... so effortlessly. It gave Becca goosebumps.
She closed her eyes, listening to the beautiful sounds. It made her want to dance again. She hadn't danced in years, though it was second nature to her. Becca was lost to the music. The song was familiar, she even knew the words. When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears. When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears.
Becca was filling with emotion. Music did that to her. And now in the presence of the unknown, with this beautiful song, Becca was lost in the moment. Nothing else existed but her, and the music. With her eyes still closed, she danced. She was graceful, and beautiful. Becca could have danced professionally. She might have, had she not moved to help her parents.
You still have all of me... Aiden played and Becca danced. When he finished, Becca opened her eyes, sapphire orbs looking at Aiden already, as if she'd choreographed the dance and knew exactly where to end. She hadn't danced like that in years. Live music like that hadn't graced her ears in many years either.
Becca stood there before Aiden now, a ball of emotion. Tears had welled up in her eyes, though nothing to spill over her cheeks. She'd been through so much over the last couple of days, and yet here she was, able to lose herself in Aiden's music, in the presence of a vampire, she could be more herself than she'd been in a very long time.
She wondered what made Aiden who he was, and what he'd been through. Many hardships, she was sure. Her heart felt for him now in a way it hadn't before. It was her turn to reach forward, as if to touch his face. "My Immortal," she whispered, merely confirming the title of the song, while it may have sounded like a different assumption all together.
Not too long after the music had started Rebecca had closed her eyes and began to dance around the room. It was almost like she was his own little personal ballerina. She was so graceful with movements all of the them. Her footwork was perfect, the way her arms glided through the air, the way she just seemed to slide across the floor effortlessly. It was like she was born to be a dancer, but then why was she working at Bloodlake camp?
He continued to play as she continued to dance, and she never let up her graceful movements. And those said movements matched the song as if it was made for it. And the dress... oh that dress it augmented everything she did, twirling and swaying this way and that. Not mention Rebecca just put so much oomph in it, so much emotion to make the dance feel alive. Not many people can put this much emotions into a song they dance to but when they do it is just breathtaking. Dancing is one of the few things he still enjoys from the world he was once apart of.
While her and the dress were moving so was her hair. Aiden caught a few glimpses of a marking on the back of her shoulder, he couldn't quite get a full glimpse of it but he looked like it had a odd shape for a birthmark. It did look like a tattoo at first, but it just wasn't the right color. When the song ended, she had stopped dancing at the same time but the dress was still moving as if to had emphasis until it stopped. Rebecca looked up at him with those Sapphire eyes. He noticed her eyes looked abit shiny, was she crying? No, she wasn't so what was she feeling, and thinking right now then? He removed the violin from under his chin when she moved close to him and it seemed as if she wanted to touch his face. Aiden knew she was talking about the song she whispered 'My Immortal', though he couldn't help but feel it was directed towards him even if it wasn't.
He moved the bow to the hand with violin and used his free to place on hers as he leaned into the hand. She wasn't the only welling up with emotions. Seeing her dancing in that dress his mother had made, it made him think she was around watching him. Of course she wouldn't approve of what he's been doing over the years. "You were great, any particular reason this isn't your job instead of that camp?"
Aiden had taken Becca's hand and brought it to his cheek, leaning into it. His skin didn't feel so different from hers. Her heart picked up speed at their proximity to each other. She couldn't decide why. Was she instinctively afraid of Aiden, being the predator he was? Or was it for another reason? Her heart didn't beat anxiously, it was more of a flutter.
His question brought her from her own thoughts. "Thank you," she said with a light blush as blood rushed to her cheeks. "I haven't danced like that in a very long time." She thought over his question for a brief moment. "I- don't know," she said honestly. It was true that she could have been a professional dancer, it was just that, well, "I never really felt fulfilled when I was dancing."
She frowned in thought. "Or in school, or at any job, or with any boyfriend, or in any new town..." But why? Becca couldn't answer that. She didn't know why she always felt as if something were missing, or that something was always waiting for her, just out of reach. She hadn't felt that way dancing this time though. And she didn't feel that way standing here with her hand in Aiden's.
The realization of that made her pull her hand back to herself, to hold it in her other. She was thinking strange things. Perhaps that was an effect of the blood she'd had. Besides, she couldn't feel fulfilled here with Aiden, with a vampire. Those were dangerous waters. Perhaps that was what she'd been lacking all along? Ironically, Becca was in for a lot more danger and adventure than she'd bargained for.
