Kasimir's fingers tightened around Varten's hand just slightly when the other spoke. He gave a slight chuckle. "Hiro always finds me, so you better keep me safe or he'll get angry at you." There was amusement dancing in those green eyes of his, amusement not fear. He wasn't afraid, despite being human, and he trusted this vampire to lead him to safety or at least attempt to protect him. Though he could fight, he didn't have anything on him that would be effective against a werewolf or a vampire. Of course he didn't have any anti-vampire things on him, but he supposed he should've brought something anti-werewolf with him. Then again, Alistair was usually his anti-everything protector. Just the sheer presence of that stoic, brooding vampire usually kept most things away, especially small children.

Kasimir shook his head slightly. "Doesn't matter where we go, just lead the way. My friend will catch up no matter what." The German sounded so confident, and he was confident in Alistair's abilities, and in the drive that kept the vampire going when he had something to keep going for. Though right now the only thing Alistair had to keep living his unlife for was the sake of Kasimir's friendship. Kasimir glanced over his shoulder, almost certain Alistair would be with them soon.

Alistair had moved through the house, killing any opposing vampire he could get his hands on until the rest had fled or also died. The sound of gunshots drew his attention to the outside, and though he was confident Kasimir could get himself to safety, he still couldn't help but worry for his human friend. He wanted to hurry back to Kas' side, but this also needed his attention. He stepped out onto the porch to see a cop and a werewolf. The cop seemed to have things under control, even injured as we was. Crouched and holding out a silver pendant in the shape of a cross at the werewolf. Alistair would watch for now, and only intervene to save the human's life if it seemed like the werewolf was going to win.

He thought about just saying yes, because she'll find out sooner or later. He chose the latter, because whats so fun about the former? This way he could find a way to get close to her to find out more about the pendant. And it'd be much easier if she didn't know he's a vampire. After all she just escaped with her life. And definitely would tell him if she found out what he was.

"Me? A vampire? Don't be silly!" He laughed out loud. "What could have gave you that impression? I don't think I'm that creepy." Aiden glared at the word creepy for but a moment.

With this I should be off to a good start....until the moment I desire comes to be I need to find a way to get this girl to trust me even only alittle, but how do I do that? Aiden thought to himself and his mindlessly bit his lip, not enough draw blood though.

"Oh," Becca said. He was laughing at her. She knew it. "I'm sorry. I just thought, I mean, you seemed really strong, and, you navigate so well in the dark..." Was it possible that Becca had just imagined it? All of it? The party, the thing in the woods...

"Well, you are, kind of," she responded to the creepy bit. "I mean, you're hanging out in a tomb... It's kind of weird...", her words trailed off. She didn't want to upset him she remembered. She realized she was still holding onto his jacket, and released him, maintaining her balance on her own.

Becca shivered again. "I really don't want to be rude or anything," and that was the honest truth, "But I need to get out of here. I'm going to freeze to death." Was it safe outside now? It didn't matter. She couldn't stay in the tomb all night. Nothing had seemed to try and get in. The coast was probably clear.

Audrey huffed and panted, not letting herself whimper despite the horrible pain in her lower abdomen. Her skin sizzled and popped before finally settling, blood soaking down her now almost useless leg, the limb curled up to prevent her from putting any weight on it.

She glared rather pointedly at the policeman, ears erect and her lips pulled in a vicious threat display. The sound of feet on wood caught her attention, ears flicking as her vision snapped to the house. There was another man on the porch, dressed in a Dracula costume and watching them, no hint of panic anywhere in his stance. That vampire. The one from earlier. Her threat display became a snarl of hatred as she looked between the two.

No. Not good. Infuriatingly so. A policeman with silver and a rather healthy looking vampire. There was no way she'd be able to take them both down. The human maybe. But the vampire had the advantage of strength and wasn't a leg down and several holes leaking blood at an unsatisfactory rate. No. As much as she was loathe to admit she needed to retreat. Now.

With an angry bark she turned, hobbling to the side of the road. It took her a moment but she finally got a rhythm to her movement, increasing in speed until she was moving faster than any human could run. There were still some cars clogging the street and she used that as cover, heading off for the edge of town and the campsite. She had been there only a few times and, although it was in those unsavory woods, it was perhaps the best place she could hide and lick her wounds without anyone finding her.

~~~*~*~*~~~
Nate had no idea where the bathroom was. In his irrational bout of fear and panic he hadn't even bothered to ask where the restroom even was. And now he was standing at the stairs, casting quick glances between the downstairs and the upstairs.
He supposed he could check the doors up here, but there weren't that many and he had the very distinct feeling that maybe the priest's room was one of them and he promised he'd respect the guy's privacy. But at the same time he didn't want to go down and bug him even further, especially since he had someone over and he could hear them talking in the kitchen.
He spent a few more seconds there, looking back down the hall and down the stair well in a state of almost constant indecision. He finally sighed and made his decision, stepping as quietly as he could down the stairs. If anything he was certain there was a public restroom he could use. He kept his camera aimed downward, using it to see his way. He would try to be quiet, try not to disturb the priest and the guest. He'd find the restroom, use it, get a quick drink, and then he'd turn right around and go straight back to sleep.
Randolph held steady as the wolf glared at him, trying not to envision what the bared fangs would have done to his throat had he not been the one to land on top. He knew better then to show any fear. His best hope right now was for the creature to decide that he wasn't worth fighting and run away to lick its wounds. He watched as the wolf's ears twitched but dared not look away, for fear that he would miss the creature's next move.
For several agonizing seconds, nothing happened. Then the wolf gave a short bark, turned and ran. Randolph waited until it was well out of range before turning towards the porch. There was a man in a Dracula costume. He groaned, realizing that he couldn't relax yet. He hoped the man was not a monster, but he was still alive, and not fleeing. Still, even if he was, there was very little Randolph could do, given that he was already wounded and lacked particularly effective weapons.
Randolph slowly backed away from the porch until he reached his car, never fully turning his back on the porch. He carefully sidled around the car, and opened the door to radio for backup, and an ambulance. Given that he was already feeling a little dizzy from blood loss and pain, trying to make it to the ER on his own would be a mistake. He kept a wary watch on the porch, but didn't ignore the rest of his surroundings as he waited for help to arrive.
Onyx gingerly out down the glass the tea was in. It was slightly bitter, but Onyx wasn going to bring that up anytime soon. That'd be just plain rude of her. Even though he was slightly off putting and creepy in the, im going to kill you and sacrifice you to the dark lord, kind of way. She could tell he was trying to be kind.
Onyx nodded excitedly. How had she not thought if calling Becca?!? Becca almost always was responsible and brought her phone everywhere with her. Onyx stood up slowly, grabbing her belongings off the floor, looking to the Priest.!"I use to come here with my family every Sunday, I remember where the office is. Thank you, sir."
Making her way out of the room, she put a hand against the dim hallway. Onyx and her family had came here very Sunday. Never missing a day. They had always been a loving, caring, close knit family. The kind you only see on television. Onyx admired this all until the day she turned 16. That's when her caring world, became a dark, cold, and lonely world.
Her parents began yelling at her. Telling her she was the "spawn of satan himself." It hurt Onyx to the core. Slowly, they began not letting Onyx out of the house besides school and church. Her own brother began not caring about whether she was picked on or not. Eventually, her so called parents had told her how she was left on their doorstep as an infant. And the day Onyx turned 18, her family packed up and left. They had left Onyx alone, in the place she had called home her whole life.
Onyx being as distracted as she was, she didn't see the rather tall boy coming down the hallways. Accidentally bumping into him, her cheeks flared. This night couldn't get any worse. "Im so sorry.." She distractedly mumbled as she made her way into the room right behind the boy.
Seeing the phone she ran over and quickly dialed Beccas number.
Aiden eye's twitched as she indeed told him he was creepy. It was like an arrow with the word creepy attached it struck him in the head. Raising his hand to face it turned it into a fist gently coughed into a few times to compose himself. "Ahem yes.. I am hanging out in tomb aren't I? You never what you're going find.. maybe some kind of ancient treasure." It took awhile but it dawned on Aiden. She was indeed in the wrong kind of clothing to be hanging around in tomb, and her dying from the cold will do him no good. "Right, follow me..." Aiden reached for and grabbed her, gently leading her towards the door, after picking up her shoes on the way. "I guess being..creepy.. has it's perks I know my way around this place even int he dark." And hopefully with that, it will calm her suspicious about him being able to see in the dark. He guided her hand to the door, and put his next to hers in the crack between the door and the wall.
"Well.. seeing as you had trouble opening it.. um earlier.. it'll perhaps open if we both tried at the same time?" Aiden had to be careful to not use too much of his strength when they opened the door. When outside where is she planning to go? Home perhaps.. Ah! Then I can be invited in. He thought as he snickered evilly to himself mentally. Aiden looked back to the girl, and asked once more. "Shall we?"
Alistair's eyes didn't leave the werewolf until she had run off. His body relaxing some, werewolves. There was a deep hatred for them that he couldn't explain, perhaps something all vampires inherited when they were turned. It didn't matter, Alistair didn't really care, he wasn't one to throw the first hit but he would have stepped in if the wolf had continued to attack the human. Those grey blue eyes blinked and he began moving, careful, deliberate steps carried him down the porch stairs and towards the police officer. The man was injured, there was no mistake about that.
It was a sad thing. Perhaps monkshood or a bit of wolfsbane could stop the disease that was undoubtedly spreading through him, or at the very least kill him. Death would be better than a cursed life. The officer had scrambled to his car, spoke into the radio calling for an ambulance. Alistair stood only a few feet from him now. "Perhaps you should call for a few more ambulance, there are injured people inside as well." He spoke the words in his quiet voice, quiet but still easily heard. He moved even closer to the police officer, a deep frown on his lips. His voice had grown quieter, solemn. "You have been bitten. I am sorry, but death will be a far better fate for you now." For a moment there was sorrow in those dull grey-blue eyes, but as quickly as it had appeared, it was gone.
Alistair didn't like killing humans, but this man wasn't human anymore. There was no doubt in the vampire's mind that the wolf bite would cause the man to turn. He would be a terrible creature, and either give in to it and revel in this new found power, or he would hate it and the hatred of it and himself would consume him and that self loathing could make him even more dangerous. No, Alistair had to stop this before it escalated, before it reached that point. Better to end this man's pain now, while there was still time. He reached for the human, he would make it quick and as painless as possible. His hand reaching to grab the man by the throat, his intention was to break the neck. Sever the head and get Kasimir to drive a piece of silver into the man's heart.
"Treasure..." Becca repeated. So he was like a grave robber then? Definitely creepy. She heard some other shuffling as he retrieved her shoes, though she wouldn't know that was why. Then she felt his hands on her and she instantly stiffened. But she realized quickly that he was only steering her to the door.
After a moment he placed her hand on the stone door of the tomb. His instructions were to pull on the door together, to get it to open. "Ok," she replied. Surely if she could close it alone, they could open it together. It was her own fault for closing it all the way and jamming it she supposed. "Mmhmm," she replied again, and began to pull.
The door opened easily enough, though Becca was sure that was only because they both worked together. She got out of the tomb as quickly as possible, putting space between it and herself. She didn't want to go into another one of those, ever.
The air outside somehow didn't seem as cold. Only a little cool. Chilly with a side of cold wind from time to time. Becca looked around. There didn't seem to be anyone or anything around. Just her and the creepy guy she'd found in the tomb.
She turned around to face him instinctively, and immediately she stopped herself from speaking. She couldn't speak really, not if she'd wanted to even. The creep from the tomb didn't appear anything like she'd imagined he would. He wasn't a vampire after all, so the pointy ears and cape thing were out, of course.
But he wasn't a homeless looking creeper either. He was, immensely attractive. Not your normal attractive. More than that. Little did Becca know that that was all a part of what made vampires who they were. What drew their prey to them. And his eyes... one of them was blue and the other was, golden. Unlike a color she'd ever seen in a person's eyes. She'd heard of it, some kind of condition she couldn't recall the name of. It wasn't awful, it was amazing.
Suddenly her chest was ringing. La boîte à joujoux played from the speaker on her cell phone. One of her favorite compositions by Debussy that she'd learned in her first ballet class when she was very young. She'd forgotten that she'd had her cell phone at all! How stupid! She probably could have used it for a light inside the tomb.
Her trance was broken and she reached into the top of her dress where her phone had been hidden and pulled it out. The read-out said "Onyen" a funny thing Becca sometimes called Onyx by mixing her first and last names together. She hit the answer button and put the phone to her ear.
"Onyx! I'm so glad you're okay! Where are you?" Becca wouldn't hear a reply though. Before she finished asking her question, her cell phone died. "Onyx? Hello?" Becca looked at the black screen. At least she knew Onyx was okay. That was all that had mattered to her. Her eyes met the stranger's once again. "I don't suppose you want to give me a lift?" she questioned.
Aiden sighed when he went outside, he could feel the moon light and the slight wind. It made him feel alive other then blood and the fact that he is undead. He looked surveying the place, blinking a few times as his eyes adjusted from pitch black darkness to moon light. It's been awhile since he's stepped outside. Aiden was looking for his dire wolf Sasha but didn't see her anywhere. She must have gone off to hunt or something, he wasn't worried at all. Right after he decided she wasn't around he looked for signs of Werewolves or Vampires and he couldn't either of them for now. Aiden can feel himself relax, which was a surprise to him, he didn't realized he had stiffened up while looking for Vampires or Werewolves.
When he finished looking around he turn to look back at her, and noticed her staring at him. Her face was surprised then it went to awe right after. With moon high overhead he could see her much better, she kind of looked terrible. Not in the sense that she was ugly or unattractive, but that party incident took a toll on her. Even though the blood dried up by now he could still smell it, which made him clench his jaw. He thought about saying something, or compelling her to tell him about pendant now that there was light but at that moment it seemed her bosom was ringing. Now even though he was a Vampire he' still a guy.
Aiden stared at her chest curious. Ah a classic song, seems she may be a fan of Claude Debussy. he thought as he shamelessly watched closely as she pulled the phone out and to her ear. Onyx?, he thought as he listened in on the conversation. This Onyx seemed to be a girl and she sounded... worried. He quickly looked back her when her phone had died and met her eyes once more. "Uh.. sure, where to?"
Becca looked down at herself. "Home," she said simply. The word held a lot of implications. One, that she needed a change, and something warm to drink. Two, that the night had been awful and she was sure to see the party on the news and wanted to know what was going on. And three; she was sure Onyx would show up from wherever she was, and if not, she wanted her own car so she could go and look for her best friend.
She was thankful that the tomb raider hadn't said no, or that he didn't have a car. She realized he was holding her shoes. "Thanks," she said, reaching to grab them. "I'll show you where to go. Where's your car?" she asked, ready to follow him wherever he headed. "I'm Becca by the way," she added, "Rebecca Dalton." She'd have offered a smile, but she was too cold, tired and achy.
Not to mention, she was too busy searching the forest for whatever had chased her into the tomb in the first place. Too bad her weak human eyes couldn't see well. They also liked to play tricks on her. Stupid human eyes. Though she couldn't complain. She did have some amazingly deep sapphire colored eyes. She'd used them to her advantage many times.
Nate had just reached the bottom of the stairs, turning to move down the hallway past the kitchen, when he was practically blindsided by someone moving in a hurry. The moment he regained his balance he turned, lifting his camera to actually see-- and all he saw was a young girl in a cheerleader outfit.
He blinked, too dumbfounded by her outfit to actually respond to her apology and turning to watch after her as she slipped past him and entered a room at the end of the hall. He stared for a few seconds, mouth opening as if trying to form a response.
After a couple more seconds he shook his head and turned, heading back in the direction he had been going, camera lifted so he could see his way down the hallway. He moved down the hall steadily, his bare feet padding lightly against the wooden floor, yawning as he continued his search for the restroom.
He nodded in response, and watched as she reached for her shoes. He can't believe he forgot he was holding her shoes, he promptly handed them over to her. Aiden thought about that for a moment, it'd be a wonder if his car was still working since hasn't driven it for awhile. But it should present no problem, she may not be one of those new cars with all it's bells and whistles but it ain't an " Ol' Besty " either.
Aiden began to take off his tux jacket. "It's not far from here.. in the Graveyards' parking lot. Here take my jacket until we get to the car atleast." Aiden put it around her shoulders and turned her away from her while he tried to remember which direction the lot was. Using the tomb they just came out of as a marker, it should be in the direction behind it, and shouldn't take long to get there. "You can call me Aiden..." He paused for a moment before looking back at her mischievously. "Let's go before we end up like the missing" He turned around and began walking behind the tomb headed the general direction of the parking lot. He started off really slow for awhile until she caught before going 'normal' walking speed.
Varten tugged Kasimir into the woods. He planned to circle around until they were at the graveyard. He figured that by now the remaining partiers would be hiding there or at that awful church. The only reason that he found it awful was because of the many things that kept him out, and the fact that when he's had to walk by there for any reason the place felt far from holy. They started walking through the trees and Varten started thinking, What if he's truly interested in me..? Maybe I should make some small talk. I will be able to hear what's going on around me.
"What's your favorite color? The vampire blurted out before he really thought about it enough. He didn't want to talk himself out of conversing with the lovely man he was holding hands with. Mine is red. It's the color of Love and Passion. It's also the color of blood. Don't you think that red is a lovely color? Now he was rambling, not really giving Kasimir a chance to respond. But then that was what he had a tendency to do when he was nervous. His father had always told him that he was 'too much like a woman'. Varten didn't see how it made him anything like a woman. He was gay, not a woman.
They were running for their lives, well more or less, though Kasimir didn't feel particularly threatened and his companion was asking him about colors? He arched an eyebrow slightly, but those green eyes continued to sparkle and dance with amusement. Red was a lovely color, and knowing a person's favorite color could tell one a lot about them, that is if someone put much stock in the mystical meanings of colors and what not. Alistair's color was white, innocence and purity, something the vampire longed for, Kasimir knew that because he was Alistair's friend.
"Green. For envy and misfortune, jealousy and good luck. Youth and vigor. That's my color." All those things and more. Kasimir wasn't quite sure why he said all of that, he could have just said green and left it at the color. It didn't matter now, such words were out and Varten could take them as he pleased. Lips quirked slightly into a suggestive smile. "Though I'm becoming more and more fond of the color red." A hand reached over to give Varten's hair the softest of tugs. Those silky strands, Kasimir really wanted to run his fingers through them.
((Sorry for the delay, I have had one freaking crazy ass day.))
"Oh," Becca said in surprise when he draped his jacket over her shoulders. It was a good thing her costume wings were small, and they'd been pretty torn up, too. Otherwise the jacket might not have fit. "Thank you," she added. The creep certainly was turning out to be a sort of gentleman. Strange as he was.
She hurried along at his last comment. She really didn't want to become like the missing. Well, technically she was already missing, but at least it wasn't a permanent missing. Becca caught up with Aiden, slipping her arms into the jacket and hugging her shoes to herself as she walked.
Instinctively she kept rather close to her newfound tomb-pal. As a small female, she typically felt safer near anyone bigger than herself in a scary situation, especially a male. She assumed it was all a part of nature in a way. Then again, the bigger things did tend to pray on the smaller ones. How ironic it would turn out to be when Becca realized what Aiden truly was.
Though leaves would crunch, Becca's movement through the forest was rather quiet in her present barefootedness. They passed by old tombstones. So many of them. Some of them were unreadable now. White with black mold or something, seeming to run down them, like blood in the dark.
Some were missing large pieces and Becca wondered how they could possibly have been broken. The whole cemetery itself was creepy. Half of it hidden away in the woods like this. Like it had just been overgrown with grass and shrubs and trees over the last hundred years and the people buried there had long been forgotten.
A shiver ran down Becca's spine. She felt like they were being watched. "How far away are we?" she asked nervously.
So his companions favorite color was green. Varten wondered what all the handsome Kasimir had to be jealous or envious about. Since the break-up with his 'sire', Varten had often had moments where he wished that he could be human again. They were fleeting, however they came more often during his loneliest days. He had often dreamed of what it would have been like to take things slow and not have been turned just because he had been disowned.
Varten couldn't help himself. He was almost like a childish fool on this night. He blushed heavily at Kasimir's words about the color red, and felt a shiver run down his spine at the slight tug on his crimson hair. He was glad though that he had braided it before the party as now that they were on the run, it would be less likely to become caught. And if it did, he could easily pull free without much damage.
What's your favorite food? He asked next. He struggled for a moment or three to think of what food he preferred over all others. He wasn't really sure. But knew that he had to give some sort of answer. Maybe I should wait until lord Kasimir answers... But then he might actually think that I am making my answer 'compatible' with his... Though that would be silly. I don't want to force him to like me. Even if the night only holds us ending as friends, I want it to be because he wants to be my friend... Ah! I know what it is! Apples. Those yellow ones. They're so sweet and juicy.
Aiden noted that Rebecca's barefooted steps were quite quiet, which was better then most people. Especially with leaves around here and there among various vegetation alive or dead. He looked up towards the sky and looked for the stars, sadly he couldn't really see. Aiden noticed since he's been here it's almost always either cloudy or foggy. The only things bright and big enough to shine through were the moon and the sun. Very rarely it was clear enough to see the stars. He wouldn't know anything about sun, meaning if it could shine through enough to make him suffer immensely because he's always under cover usually.
He looked back and towards Becca briefly before looking forward once more. He could tell she was nervous and just smiled to himself before responding. "Just alittle ways, do you see my car over there?" Aiden pointed ahead of them towards a 1967 black Chevy Impala.
It took them just a few to a couple of minutes to reach the car. Aiden visibly beamed to see that she looked extremely well, she was still alittle bit shiny even though she was slightly dusty here and there. Aiden pulled out his car keys from his dress slacks and opened his side to get in. Once he was in he opened her side with the controls on his side, and when she was in the car he asked. "Where ?"
Amusement continued to dance in Kasimir's eyes when Varten asked his next question. Food. Kasimir didn't really have a favorite food, though he was very fond of spicy things. Quite honestly Kasimir probably would have been surprised if Varten had listed 'blood' as his favorite food, but something as mundane as apples didn't surprise Kasimir. He did wonder if the other was trying to play at being a human, or maybe he really did like apples. Could this vampire eat solid foods? Alistair had no taste for such human things, in fact most things made him sick.
"I like most foods, especially spicy things." That was enough of this, pointless questions. Though perhaps they were only pointless to Kasimir because he didn't quite understand the purpose of small talk. Of finding things in common with another person he was interested in. He'd never actually done small talk before. Kasimir's interest usually didn't last longer than a day, unless the mark had things that Kasimir wanted but couldn't get in only the span of a day or single night. Colors and foods. Why would a stranger care what kinds of things Kasimir liked? Varten was still essentially a stranger to him. Stranger and a vampire. "Can you consume human foods?" Kasimir figured it was his turn to ask questions now, that German accented voice sounded genuinely curious as he asked.
Becca looked up from the ground when he spoke. She'd been watching where she was walking so she wouldn't trip, or step on something she didn't want to. He was pointing to a car, somewhere ahead. Becca squinted into darkness. She couldn't see a single vehicle anywhere. How could he?
He must just know where to look. This wasn't an area Becca was familiar with at all. She just nodded, "Mmhmm," she lied. No point in talking about how she needed to eat more carrots so she could see better in the dark.
When they finally reached the lot, there was a black car, the only vehicle in sight. Becca didn't know what it was, but it looked awesome. It appeared to be an older vehicle, in mint condition. It was probably expensive.
She wondered for a moment what it was that Aiden did for a living. Which was ironic, since he wasn't really living, exactly. He probably robs graves, she thought. He was already getting in the car so Becca hurried along to the passenger side, which promptly popped open. She slid inside and closed her door.
"Wow," she said. "Are you sure you want me in here dirtying this thing up?" she asked, recalling that she, while not exactly dirty, had been partying all night and had dried blood about her and on her hands from Alison. "I never imagined a grave robber to have a nice car. Maybe an old Pinto or something, at best," she joked, poking fun at him.
For some strange reason though, he really seemed like an old timey mob car kind of guy. Especially in those slacks. He had an air of danger about him that further pushed Becca to that realization. But she didn't think much else about it. She just wanted to get home. "I live right off of Main Street in town. The side street is Canterbury," she replied.
As he began to drive, Becca slipped out of the jacket and then out of the wings, reaching back to set them both in the back seat. As they drove, they'd pass by cop cars, with their lights on, as well as ambulances and firetrucks, all headed towards the old mansion where the party was. No one living would recall what had happened. The vampires had compelled them all to forget.
The news would claim that there had been a wolf attack, a pack of them. The wolves of course wouldn't be found, causing a panic in the town. Few people would know what really happened, and they wouldn't be taken seriously even if they told anyone.
Becca watched Aiden while he drove for a moment. She couldn't decide if he was a good person or a bad person or normal or really weird. Her instincts told her not to trust him, that he was bad. Someone full of mischief and danger. Yet, she couldn't decide if running into him had been a good or a bad thing. She was, after all, safe, and on her way home. How bad could he be?
Aiden did ignore her at first when she got in the car, because he was thinking about he was going to clean it in case it got dirty. Not to mention once again, it's been awhile since he's been in this car. "Don't worry about it." He told her and shortly after she poked fun at him, his hobbies and his car. Aiden grimaced when she told him she thought he might have had a old Pinto. He didn't so much mind the grave robber part as much as the Pinto bit. I think I just died on the inside he thought to himself as he put the key in the ignition to turn the car on.
(( Below this OOC, is what happens when he asks where? and she tells him.. trying to keep it story book feel-y lol ))
Aiden simply nodded to let her know he understood and knew where the streets were, almost simultaneously he turned the car on. As Aiden was driving Rebecca had slipped out of her wings and his jacket and put them somewhere off in the visible darkness of the backseat. The upholstery of the inside was a semi bright medium red, but int he dark it was more akin to a dark burgundy color.
Aiden watched from a distance and kept watching the cops who were leading the firetrucks and ambulances. Looks like someone managed to call for help amidst the fear and discord.
The two drove on in silence as Aiden made the necessary stops and turns. Just enough time for some small talk before turning on to Canterbury. He thought he attempt a joke, to repay Becca for hers' earlier. "You're not leading me into Heaven are you?" He asked her mischievously as he glanced at her side ways. But a moment passed when he turned onto Canterbury and he asked which house was he looking for.
The vampire waited for the human to answer him. In that time he began to doubt himself about why he was making small talk. It's to keep myself busy. But what if it annoys or bores lord Kasimir..? He will probably hate me.. Just then a tree branch grabbed at his braid making his thoughts stop, as he focused on pulling it loose to keep walking. He didn't miss a step.
When Kasimir answered. A warm tingle answered in Varten's mouth. A mere memory of food, spicy and biting on his taste buds. Then the dreaded question. This caused him to sigh as he thought about his response. I can if I drink blood with it. But I haven't had an apple in years. I can still remember the taste of them though. So sweet. Soft skin yielding to my then blunt teeth. Juice running down my chin after dribbling from the corner of my mouth from the bite. A bittersweet smile crossed his lips. I still remember the taste of spicy food too ya'know.
Dead leaves crunched underfoot and twigs snapped off trees as they walked. If you want to continue it's still your turn. I asked two so you get another. His braid caught again and this time he had to stop to pull it free. For some reason it felt to Varten that the tree was trying to stop them from going forward.
When the tree branch grabbed Varten's hair, Kasimir moved to help, but the vampire got free of the offending branch quickly enough. The blonde ran a hand through his own hair, tugging at a few strands for a moment and just watching Varten as they moved. That amusement never left Kasimir's eyes, and only seemed to grow a bit as Varten described what he remembered of eating apples. Although out of context it was easy to imagine he was describing biting into human flesh, well without the reference to blunt teeth. It was that thought at amused Kasimir the most.
Then Varten was caught again by a tree, and Kasimir moved to the rescue. Stepping very close to the red haired vampire, his hands moving to gently disentangle hair and tree limbs. "Seems like the tries like your hair almost as much as I do." Kasimir's touch was gentle, his fingers light and deft as they worked to painlessly free his companion. "I'll just ask this one last question and then you can continue questioning me. Did you choose to become a vampire, or was it forced upon you?" Again the German seemed genuinely curious.
Varten immediately stiffened. He felt panicked. He had two choices, tell the full truth or an out-right lie. Then he realized that he could just tell the partial, no essential, truth. Making himself relax as he thought of how to answer. He made no move to speak until he was free of the tree and they were moving again. "I-I was twenty-three years old. I lived at home because I had just finished a semester at college. It was a big thing. No one in my family had been to college since my 'crazy' great-uncle, who had wanted to be an scholar. I was going for an engineering degree. Something that was even more unheard of in my family. My family had always been farmers. But I was interested in doing something different with my life.
One afternoon I decided to come out to my parents, to prove a point that at the time seemed more important then it really was. I had met this wonderful man and instead of keeping it a secret as all other homosexuals of the time, I introduced him as my date. A fight broke out. He left so that everyone would calm down and my father and I could talk things out. My mother was too busy crying about how I was hurting her with my 'evil'. I was disowned and ran to my 'boyfriend's' arms. That night he told me promises that if I was turned we could live together forever. I being wounded from the family betrayal, and naive I accepted. So I was kind of forced. But it was my decision.
He felt as if a weight was placed on his shoulders as they continued to walk. He also felt like he might have said too much. But he was in a way a cautionary tale. The tale of the man that made a rash decision and has had to pay for it for sixty long years. And would continue to for who knew how much longer.
For a while Kasimir wasn't sure Varten was going to answer him. Though the other did speak once he was free of the groping fingers of trees in his hair and the two were walking again. Kasimir listened, carefully, even as his green eyes danced around to watch their surroundings. It wouldn't be good if he got lost and he hadn't really been paying much attention to where they were or where they were going at all. When Varten was done speaking, Kasimir was silent for a few long steps forward, shaking his head slightly.
"Sounds like you were tricked. That was rather dirty of him. I'm sure he knew that in your distressed emotional state you would make the choice that seemed most appealing. To be with him forever. He used your naivete against you, and your distressed state." Kasimir reached out and laced his fingers with Varten's. "Ah..I suppose I have one more question for you, then. Was it worth it, giving up your humanity?" Kasimir almost felt like he already knew the answer, perhaps this vampire was similar to Alistair.
