2.) This is a horror roleplay for a reason. It will be very graphic and very gorey. Some of your characters may, most likely, die.
3.) Post all profiles in the following OOC thread:

Story:
The small town of Derry, Maine, has just been ravaged by the worst storm in over 6 decades. Tornado force gales of wind have uprooted trees, crumpled barns, and sank docks all along Darkshore Lake. Worse still, a peculiar mist can be seen forming across the lake.
All power to the town has been downed due to severed power cables and you must go into town to pick up supplies or run errands to help you fix the damage of the previous night's storm. While you are driving, you notice that the mist has moved halfway across the lake and that the radio stations which are based across the lake, inside the peculiar mist, are down. You also notice several other cars of people heading into town and even a few military conveys heading from town, presumably to the military base across the lake.
Upon arriving in town, you notice several more military vehicles and, more apalling, numerous armed soldiers patrolling Main Street in full combat gear. They do not bother you, however, as you exit your vehicle and enter one of the following locations: Supermarket, Hardware Store, Pharmacy, or Derry's BBQ.

Rules:
1.) Menewsha RP rules, of course.
2.) You must read the story and RP according to it for it will update frequently in the thread.
3.) You may have multiple characters, however, all characters must begin in a different starting location. This makes the max character limit 4 (per account), since there is 4 different beginning character locations. The only exception to this rule is if you roleplay as a family, which would consist of a husband and a wife since I would feel horrible killing off children. Families count as one character and must all be RPed in the same post.
4.) In this RP, I am master and omnipotent meaning that whatever I say happens. I will roleplay as premade and government officials, as well as creatures of the mist. While I will try my very best to be fair in my modding, not that I am ultimately trying to kill you off. The quality of your post will directly affect my decision making in your fate, so be literate and be creative.
5.) Once a character dies, they are dead. There is no resurrect, or magic of any kind for that matter, in this roleplay. Nor are there zombies. Once a RPer is completely killed off, they're out of the contest.
6.) You must read the rules and post that you have read the rules in your profile in the OOC thread.

The character profile template is as follows:
Username:
Name:
Age:
Gender:
Appearance:
Personality:
Occupation:(Their profession.)

As Zenfoid got out of his car he checked for his wallet in his back pocket it was there and the list for his BBQ was in his other pocket. taking out the list he read over it so he could go to the back of the store and work foward like he alwas did.
"Okay, lets get home befor it's to late."
He told himself he did that often to keep sane living alone he could go crazy.

Yumi got out of her car. She zipped up her jacket as a cold breaze coming from the direction of the lake hit her skin. She entered the busy superstore, keeping an eye out for items that could creatively be used to fix up her house. She had a really good imagination when it came to making things from other things. She browsed the many rows of items, picking out some things she really liked and imagined she could use.
~
Izack stepped out of his truck. His muscles flexed when he slamed the door shut. He was in a hurry to get out of the town, something in his gut told him something was amiss. He trudged into the hardware store, picking up the sheets of plywood and the two-by-fours with ease and dropping them onto the cart.
~
Matt smoothed out his coat, annoyed with the wrinkles that kept persistantly coming back. He headed into the pharmacy for what was the third time this week. His wife, Sophia, joining him. Matt rounded the corner and approached the owner. Matt cleared his throat before speaking, "I believe we have a meeting. Correct?"
~
Jack shoved the little five year old that was sitting on the sidewalk, who was coloring with chalk, out of his way. His posy made their way to the doors of Derry's BBQ. Cutting in line, they stood next in line to place their order. The rest of the customers grumbled complaintively about this.

Ms. Goodwinn eyed Yumi disapprovingly as she entered the superstore. "You're still wearin' that Devil's hair, I see," she pretentiously called after Yumi as she had walked past. Mr. King, who had been supervising a group of new employees as they rang up groceries on calculators since the power was out, promptly shook his head disapprovingly at Ms. Goodwinn's remark. "Don't come in here and give my customers any hassle, Ms. Goodwinn," he told her with a threatening stare.
--
"'Ey, ey!" Big Bill growled at the group of young men who had cut in line. "Get yerselfs back to the back of tha line!" he grumbled and glared at the young men as he wiped his hands on his already grease stained apron.
--
"Hi, there!" Ellis greeted Izack and Guitar as she passed them down the aisle of her store. "Were you here last night when we had that freak storm? It just came out of nowhere!" Ellis said as she swung her arms to the side, emphasizing the massive storm of the previous night.
--
"Why, yes I believe we do," Ricky Jones said in his mellow voice as he looked up from his newspaper. "Were you the one who was looking for the job here?" he asked.

Yumi smiled at Mrs. Goodwinn's remark. She liked her hair style. It was really unique, and anime stylish. She continued down the isles, looking for a few other things that could possibly be of an interesting use to her. Yumi wore a smile the whole time she was looking, her mind whirling with different possibilitys for the items that caught her eye.
~
Jack folded his arms. "I don't know what you talkin' about, old man. Just give us each some of that famous BBQ of yours." Jack jutted out his chin impatiently, thinking that it gave him a more powerful look. He tapped his fingers against his arm impatiently.
When the other guy yelled at him, he turned on the spot. "What'd you say punk?" He asked, turning his hand into what he thought was a threatening fist.
~
Guitar patted along the floor of the hardware store, keeping close to Izack. With Izack being a regualar customer, no one seemed to mind Guitar being inside. Guitar was really well trained, and knew better than to try going to the restroom inside. He loved everyone, old and young alight, just as long as they did not pull on his tail fur. It was really sensitive there. Izack smiled at Ellis, "Evening. I was in the town over, just got back this morning to find this hole in the side of my house. Figured I'd better get that fixed up, soon as possible."
~
Matt cleared his throat again, "Yes, well, I currently have my own small pharmacy, but there is not enough customers, not is there adaquet reason for two pharmacies to exist within the borders of one town. I would very much like to move my business here and work as partners with you." He paused with a serious face, waiting for Rick to respond to what he had just said. Sophia sat quietly by Matt's side, a look of apathy painted on her face, keeping her lips unsmiling.

Leon entered the BBQ shop. He glanced over at the shouting customers standing at the front of the line. He took a seat in an empty booth, watching the arugment. There looked like there would be fighting. He watched, wondering what it could be about, only catching a couple phrases until he derived that it was because of someone cutting in line. He shurgged, not really carring what happened, and stared off into space.
~
Aya stepped out of her sporty truck. She liked her vehicle because it had style as well as balls. She smiled to herself. She checked to make sure her truck was locked, so that no one could steal her precious "baby" before she headed into the hardware store. She stopped in the entrance, letting what little sunlight that remained cast an outline around her great figure. She strutted into the store, thinking of how tough and sexy she was, not thinking much of what she would need for the repairs. She smiled at the cute cashier as she passed. Hopeing that it would make his knees weak.

Vance pulled as close to the entrance of the supermarket as he could get, "Come on Vance lets hurry up and get inside!" Vance gave Rubee a weird stair, "Rubee! Calm down. It's not like we ran away from our post. Where on leave! Don't act so weird!" Vance looked around feeling as if all the military eyes around them where on him, Rubee felt the same but they where for very different reasons. Max felt it was because Rubee was acting to strange so they would think something was up, and Rubee thought it was because they where going to try and get them to come back and help there efforts. One thing both of them did agree on though was that they wanted to avoid them. They hurried into the shop. Rubee ran straight toward the back and Vance made his way toward the counter. He smiled at Ms. Goodwinn and said, "Hi Ms. Goodwinn, have you seen any of those military come in here recently?"
~
Catanzi walked up to the man waiting in the booth and smiled, "Some people always have to be the center of attention!" She giggled, "So any who, What is it that I could get you?"
~
Fai slid her motorcycle into the space infront of the pharmacy marked handicap and turned it off. she stepped off and walked in the front door removing her sun glasses and approaching the desk, then interrupting the conversation she said, "Excuses me but do you have packages for me to deliver today?" she smiled at the man that was talking to the pharmacist. "This will only be minute, you understand right?" She smiled then with out waiting for a response said, "Thanks!" and turned back to face Ricky.
~
Ilijo walked into the hardware store. he kept his face toward the ground and made his way sneakingly toward the back to find the few supply's he would need.

Jack glared at the man. "I could mess you up real bad! You wanna find out how bad?" Jack's posse stood behind Jack, trying to pull of a threatening appearance. It would work really well against smaller kids because Dan and Joe were taller than Jack. Dan had a rugged appearance, the average look of a bully. Jack had a punk look to him. Joe was really muscular, but did not have the same rough appearance Dan had. Moe was the least threatening of the bunch. He was the smallest of the group. He was thin, but really fast. He always wore a scowl, which may have been the most threatening thing about his appearance.
~
Sophia looked at the woman with a look of disapproval. That was highly rude! People these days have no respect! She thought to herself, eyeing over the woman while still holding the look of disapproaval on her face. Matt held the same opinion as his wife. People these days did not know any courasy. He snorted rather quietly at haveing to wait longer for a reply. Time was of importance. He did not like wasting it.

"I don't need anyone to help me. It is just better not having to worry about getting other's blood all over my clothes. Wouldn't want any stains now would I?" Jack asked, trying his hardest to keep his cool. He had a really short temper and this guy was really pushing his buttons hard. Jack kept his eyes staring at the man, not looking away. He wanted to show him that he did not fear him, because he really didn't have the slightest ounce of fear for this man. He didn't have any fear of nothing, or so he thought.

Ms. Goodwinn smiled at the two, the man and the woman, with her cruel, deploying the best of her sweetly cruel expressions from her arsenal. "As a matter of fact, there is, apparently, a small battalion of battle ready troops right here in our small town of Derry," Ms. Goodwinn said sweetly, while smiling malignantly at the two. "We haven't done anything that might provoke these marines, have we?" she openly implored of the two who were acting as if they were criminal refugees. Before either Vance or Rubee could say anything in reply to Ms. Goodwinn's openly disrespectful remarks, there was a commotion from outside. A small crowd of the clerks were stopping what they were doing to walk over to the front windows and peer out at, apparently, something very interesting. "What is that?" one of the younger clerks, a small woman with thick glasses, asked.
--
"'Ey! 'Ey!" Big Bill roars at the rowdy crowd, having found the argument no longer amusing. He looked up at them from his skillet, where he was cooking two gargantuan beef patties, with all intentions of kicking them out of his store, when he noticed something very peculiar going on outside. "Youse all shuddup, y'hear?" he said to them absently as he leaned forward and squinted. He could see nothing, however, for he didn't have his glasses on and his window wasn't the cleanest of glasses. "What in the nine hells?" he muttered as he walked around his counter and stalked towards the window, leaning forward to try and catch a better glimpse all the while. "What in the hell are are those leathernecks doin' in town?" he asked aloud for he had weathered the storm of the previous night in the safety of his store and had not been aware of the soldiers until now. Big Bill walked and stood right in front of his store window, pressing his face against the cold, inanimate glass to get the best possible look. "What in the hell is that?" he asked aloud, even louder this time, as he saw the mist, which was now nearly upon the town, for the first time.
--
Ricky cocked an eyebrow at the strange man, then at the rude woman. "Missus," he said in his thick yankee accent, "if you would wait for one moment, I'll get my lovely wife to fetch your package." He looked back to the man and his woman. "I think that we need to talk in my office, Mr . . ." he let the sentence trail off, waiting for the man to give his last name. The occupants of the pharmacy were too interested in their own affairs to notice much of anything else, namely the white cloud which was soon to engulf the entire town in its maws.
--
Ellis smiled at Izack, a big smile that exhibited her more than average looks, before noticing the newcomer who had slipped into her shop. "Well, hi there!" she turned towards the man, who was now nearly to the back of the store, and waved.
--
Sargeant Cox stood at the head of his men. "Brace yourselvs, grunts!" he barked as he raised his customized M16 at the cloud of destruction which was crawling up Main Street. His men, nervous newbies of soldiers, stood behind him with their own weapons raised, though many of them were shaking with fear and most likely unable to hit a tin can at close range. Sargeant Cox, however, was ready. The mist crawled towards them, preceeded by a large cloud of dust. As the dust, and the mist, got closer, the shrill cries of animals could be heard. Seconds later, a small stampede of woodland creatures, including everything from tiny chipmunks to bears, and birds of every kind were fleeing from the mist. One deer, nudging along a tiny deer, was lagging behind the rest. The mist crawled behind this pair of deer like a predator stalking its prey, and out shot a snakelike appendage which wrapped itself around the doe. There was a squeel that was abruptly cut off as the doe exploded into a shower of blood, literally ripped in two by the appendage, which dragged the doe's upper half into the mist. The other half was soon swallowed up by the white cloud. "Jesus Christ!" one of the grunts yelled with terror. "Did you see that? Did you see that?" he shouted hysterically while backing away from the advancing cloud. The rest of the grunts and Sargeant Cox held their ground, though Cox was the only one who seemed undisturbed by the horrifying act of violence that they had just witnessed.

Yumi heard the commotion, and headed for the front of the store, pushing her cart in front of her. Her curiousity had always gotten the best of her. She was eager to hurry back the the interesting looking knick knacks she saw in the tools section. She neared Mrs. Goodwinn, but saw that she was busy talking to some people. She hung back, looking through the stuff on display near the checkout lines.
~
Jack kept his eyes starting at the man. He did not seem to notice Big Bill, or rather, he just didn't care about it. He was determined to not let his eyes stray from the man.
~
"Mr. Cliche. Matt Clishe. And this lovely beauty to my right is my wife, Sophia. Indeed, I would much prefer the quiet solitude, free from any disruptions." He said, inclining his head just slightly in a nod at Ricky's suggestion. Sophia kept her gaze on the woman who was waiting. She did not like the fact that their conversation had been interupted, though she was not saying anything herself. She did not smile or nod when her husband introduced her. She just stood straight, with that apathetic look glued to her features.
~
Once Izack had gather all that he thought he would need, he turned and started walking to the counter. He smiled at Ellis as she had at him. "Hello to yourself. Quiet a glum looking day huh?"
Guitar had followed closely at Izack's heels. He stopped walking around his owner and started to growl, low at first, but slowly getting deeper. He was facing the direction of the door.
Izack looked down at his friend, then at the door, then back at Guitar. "What is it boy?" Izack asked his faithful companion. "What do you sense?"

Fai smiled, "Why deary your just in luck!" she mocked, "A minute just happens to be exactly what I have left!" She turned to look at Sophia and smiled, "BOO!" she said quickly then laughed as she backed away from the counter and to the side to wait for the packages.
~
Ilijo prayed the women had not been talking to him, even though he knew she was. He kindly turned around and bitting his lower lip smiled and waved back at her still trying to walk away he ended up bumping into a display and knocking over a few things. He swung around quickly to check out the damage, "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to do it!" he bent down and began to pick up a few of the things trying to fix them back in place, and at the same time he slipped a few in his pocket under his jacket. "I'll clean it up I swear! I'm sorry!" he said still bent down.
~
Catanzi was watching out the window as a scene played out before her she watched the military officials ready them selfs and watched as the mist took over and then she saw it, that thing, it took the deer! Catanzi dropped her pad and pen and screamed a blood curdling scream!
~
Max was about to kindly tell Mrs. Goodwinn to go to hell when he was interrupted by a mob of curious people staring out the windows, "What the hell is going on?" He asked trying to shove his way to the front, "I'm a marine let me through!" He demanded!
Rubee took this opportunity to make a quick run around the store. What ever was going on outside would still be there when she got back!

Gregory had been sitting in the back of the BBQ, enjoying a cup of coffee when everything went bad, and kept enjoying it, trying to ignore any commotion. He listened and watched Big Bill, and when Big Bill went to the window, so did Gregory. He looked at the mist rolling towards the place, and the soldiers.
"What in christ is going on here now? What do you think?"

((It's alright, Sepher. I actually haven't been on in a while either and I remember this RP being a little slow. I was actually thinking about closing it down because it's seeming a little dead. That may be my fault, though, so I'll post a reply))
Sargeant Cox ordered his men into a tight circle and activated his infrared sensors that are built into the helmet of all the marines gear. The Mist crept forward, with the malicious intent of a stalking predator, and the animals continued to futilely flee from it. More of the snakelike appendages whipped out and snatched up the woodland creatures, more blood was spilled on the small town street. Sargeant Cox surveyed the area, his men, and the guesstimated position of the hostile creatures in the mist and realized that they would be in the open and vulnerable when the mist overtook them. "Back up to the Supermarket walls, Men," he ordered via intercom radio. "Remember the mission," he added as he began to move the edgey, frightened greenies towards the Supermarket, keeping his gun on the ready and his sense alert for the appendages.
--
"Sumthin' is happenin' out there!" Big Bill exclaimed as he saw the marines go into battle position and back up towards the Supermarket. From this angle, the mist obscured enough of his vision so that he could not see the dark, slimy tentacles of death snatch up their victims amongst the fleeing animals. "I don't think t'would be a good idear to go out there right now," Big Bill said to the man who suggested they go home. "Lest you want a bullet in your bum," he said with a chuckle.
