erik stretched his neck, looking behind them for a moment, then back towards the town.
"you'll see em. just don't shit yourself when you do."
he stretched his shoulders and pulled out a cigarillo, lighting it and puffing a few times.
"besides, why the hell else would we be out here with guns? but then again, if those bastards didn't push that tree onto my rig, we woulda been to town already... and woulda never met you, so i guess that's a good thing... probably...."
nodding slowly as he thought.

Jack nodded. "Yea, we might have run you over, thinking you were a zombie or something."

Posting as: GOD!!! The town was starting to come into view, and the first of the zombies were starting to break through the tree line back by the farm house.

erik gave a chuckle and looked to the town.
"well, let's see..."
he looked behind to try and see the zombies, looking back to the front.
"ya never answered, any supermarkets?"

Jack nodded. "There's one. Pretty decent sized, and a small diner. Not a whole lot else, a few shops, the 2 gas stations...." She made a displeased face. "It's a small, shitty little town."

erik chuckled.
"that it is, but if it weren't, ya might already be dead.."
he thought for a moment.
"which is tallest out of those?"
raising an eyebrow and looking to jack.

Jack thought for a moment. "I bet the super market would be best, It's pretty tall, and you can only get to the roof via a ladder on the side of the building. Easier if we only need to watch one spot, and I doubt the zombies can coordinate themselves enough to climb up the ladder. We'll just need to keep some lights up at night, and we should be ok. Like I said, we should head north east after a few days, try to find the safe zone." She shrugged and took a long drag off her cigarette. "I dunno what else to do."

erik nodded.
"well, then we have a destination then. we'll work on the next step once we're there."
he continued walking and looked to the cross on his wrist, before looking back to the town ahead of them.

Jack nodded. "We can get some supplies and get to the roof a little while before it gets dark. I think, I hope." She laughed bitterly, tossing her cigarette behind her onto the sun-baked stretch of pavement.

erik nodded.
"let's see... we need food obviously... does that place have anything else?"
fiddling with his pellet gun.

Jack shrugged. "Like I said, I've only lived there a few weeks... I've been in there maybe 3 or 4 times.
We'll just have to look and see what we can find."

Posting as: GOD!!! The city drew closer, as did the zombies. They were still back by the farm house, but more were filtering out from the trees, onto the road. The group had made it about 3 miles, and still had about 2 left to go. The sun was crawling across the sky, and it was about 2. They had been walking for almost an hour, and would probably reach town in about another half-hour. As far as they could see from here, there were no zombies in the town. Yet.

erik gave a sigh, looking at the sun, then to his watch.
"Well, we'll have some time, a bit. but not as much as i'd like..."
he thought for a moment.
"well, there's not really much we can do about that. let's just work as quickly as possible."
nodding.

Jack nodded. "It's all we can do. We'll just do our best." She opened another bag of jerky, and handed a piece down to Fredrick, rubbing the top of his head after he took it gently with his teeth from her fingers.

erik nodded and dropped the now finished cigarillo, stepping on it as he passed and sighing, looking at the sky.
"let's see how long we live..."
giving a light chuckle.
"how about giving us some help? please?"
seeming to talk to himself as he stared at the sky.

Jack laughed and rolled her eyes. "You think he's gonna start listening now?" She lit up another cigarette and took a long drag, exhaling slowly as she surveyed the sides of the road.

erik looked to jack, chuckling.
"even if nothing happens, i think he's at least listening. i'd rather talk to someone who's staring at a wall, than sit alone in a dark room."
he gave a chuckle again, and continued to watch the sky.

Jack smirked. "I sure hope so...." She looked at the ground, scuffing her boots on the pavement as she walked. "I really don't know sometimes...."

erik shrugged.
"faith has nothing to do with knowing. you can know and not believe, or believe and not know."
giving a light chuckle as he popped his neck.
"now i'm starting to sound all preachy..."
continuing to chuckle.

Jack smirked again. "Damn right you are...." She sighed, then let out a quiet laugh. "Well, to each their own I suppose." She ran a hand through her unruly mohawk. "I'm not saying I don't believe in God, but wouldn't he be a bit busy right now? What with the whole 'End of the world' thing?"

erik shrugged.
"well, according to the bible, he just sits back and lets the ex morning star take control, and do what he pleased. God doesn't actually intervene until the very end of it all. or so the bible says."
nodding.
"according to the bible, he actually has no hand in what happens. he prepares before it happens, and appears afterwards, but in general, isn't present during the seven years in a strong manner."
nodding as he pulls out the bible and skims through it.

Jack shrugged. "What the hell for?" She lit up a cigarette, talking between long drags. "It seems to me that he shouldn't let something like this happen to his 'children'. What did we do?"

erik suddenly burst out laughing.
"have you read a newspaper? what have we done... sheesh...."
he continued laughing.
"what HAVEN'T we done? let's see, we've wrecked the planet, we kill thousands a day that we could easily save. i mean, we've taken everything he gave us and shoved it into his face. so him stepping out for seven years is deserved."
he nodded firmly, then continued chuckling.
"of course, i wanna try and live through it. i don't think God'll have any problem with that."
nodding.

Jack frowned. "I know we did all that, but why NOW? We've been fucking shit up for so long... What made him do it NOW?"

erik thought.
"well, from here on the world would most likely fall into its own chaos and hell.... so, i guess, if it weren't now, things would end up worse than they already will."
giving a solid nod.
"so, the timing may very well be to save us."

Jack shrugged. "Well, I hope we make it...." She took a drag off her cigarette, and looked up. "We're getting pretty close now..."

Posting as: GOD!!! The town grew even closer, and zombies continued their shamble out of the forest. The town was perhaps, a 20 minute walk away now.

erik looked back to the city, nodding.
"yea. soon we'll have to work hard, and start praying."
he gave a light chuckle, smirking and looking forward.
"we'll be alright..."
nodding again.
