erik sighed and continued working, looking to the zombies every couple minutes.

Jack continued constructing the sled frame, hoping it would prove sturdy enough.

Posting as: GOD!!! The zombies continued on their path, leaving the super market behind them. They were headed for the exact opposite side of town.

erik helped jack make the sled, trying to keep it as strong as he could.
"i hope this works..."
nodding.

Jack smirked. "I damn well hope so, we're kinda screwed otherwise." She laughed, a little cynically.

erik chucked and nodded.
"yea, good point!"
nodding and continuing to work.
"so, let's just get this done the best we can, and then, eh, whatever happens, happens."
shrugging.

Jack nodded. "Thats the best we can do." She jumped up suddenly, turning off the floodlights. "We should conserve these, use them only at night. We don't know how long we'll need them."

Posting as: GOD!!! The zombies continued towards the far edge of the town, the first few reached the gates of the town power plant.

erik looked to where the zombies were going, his eyes widening...
"uh.... shit...."
pointing towards the power plant.

Jack looked up, her eyes growing wide as she watched the zombies. "Do you think they are intelligent?" She shuddered. "I didn't even think of that! They never are in movies."

Posting as: GOD!!! The zombies piled against the power plant's gate, finally breaking through and shambling into the power plant itself. The zombies headed directly for the main cables that supplied the town with power.

erik growled deeply.
"the shades... they're helping the shades..."
he looked to the items.
"we're gonn have to use the fuel carefully. and..."
stopping for a moment to think.
"we've gotta keep the fuel close. directly in the light, always watched by someone... these things are smart, we've anticipate that now..."

Posting as: GOD!!! As Jack and Erik watched, the zombies shoved themselves against the cables. Many zombies caught fire, or simply exploded from the high electrical current. After a very short time, the few lights that were on the city went dark. The zombies then re-grouped themselves, paying no heed to the pieces of their fallen comrades. The horde of zombies turned, moving more or less in unison, and began their shambling journey back towards the super market.

erik looked around the building, then back to the zombies.
"...this is going to be difficult... very..."
checking his flashlight, making sure it worked, then turning it off and sticking it in his pocket.
"we may very well need to resort to fire by the end of this..."

Jack nodded, quickly turning her eyes from the zombies and returning to work. She lit a cigarette and smoked with a shaky hand while she worked.

erik moved next to jack silently and helped her out, stopping for a bring moment and taking a deep breath, calmly exhaling.
"we'll get through this...."
nodding, a look of determination taking his face as he continued working.

Jack sighed. "I hope the fuckers can't climb..." She focused intently on her work, trying to get it done well, but quickly. She wanted to get out of here.

erik nodded and continued helping.
"so, does the plan stay as is?"
watching the zombies come back for a moment, then looking back to the sled.
"or, maybe, should we leave sooner?"

Jack frowned. "Maybe, but if they drop again tonight, we will have a decent head start. We'd probably meet them at the bottom if we tried to move everything now."

erik nodded.
"there's no possible way we could get out of here now... but i don't know... it'd be better if we knew how long the batteries and fuel would last...."
continuing to work.

Jack nodded. "I bet they will last a while, but there's really no way to be sure."

erik looked over the fuel, sighing.
"well, hope it lasts through the night.... we might as well leave when the zombies fall, since we have no reason to stay here anymore... better to move while we can..."
giving a light sigh, then smirking.
"mama said there'd be days like this..."
he stopped, then laughed at the corniness of his words.

Jack rolled her eyes. "My momma told me I was a worthless trouble maker." She laughed. "She was probably right." She lit a cigarette, returning to work. "Should we try to move all night? It might be easier to wait part of it out here, cause we'll have the fire. We can't really take it with us. Unless we make torches or something."

erik nodded.
"we should make sure to bring the logs and such with us, make sure we can make fire if we need to. i think, after this, we'll sleep, and try to move during the night. you think?"
looking to jack.

"Did we want to wait out part of the night with the fire barrels, or try to move as soon as it's dark?" Jack tested the strength of the part she was working on. "Fire is pretty hard to use while on the go."

erik nodded.
"well, we wanna get as good of a head start on the zombies as we can... so, maybe we should leave just a bit after they fall. the shades, we just need light to keep them away... zombies, we need to avoid at all costs."
sighing and pulling out a cigarillo, lighting it and puffing.

Jack nodded, testing another part of the sled. "Thats true. Alright, maybe an hour after nightfall?"

erik nodded.
"sounds good. and that'll give us enough time to prepare..."
testing parts of the sled, and continuing to try and make it sterdy.
