Dr. Taylor nods and writes down the information. Then Dr. Taylor asks an important question to Kirin, "Would you want to pursue changes?"

Meanwhile Terrance hugs Rita back and tells her, "I can't believe they did this to him. Who would do such a thing to my lover. Unless... but even though he never did anything to anyone..."

Then he thought about something and realized, "What if they go after me next? I don't mean that, but attack me or worst yet..."

Somewhere not so far away Terrance's sister is at a art gallery somewhere sighing as she looks at some artwork. She is regretting all the things she has done, although she doesn't want to make things right. No one knows that she is Terrance's sister.

Kirin shrugs not sure. He was used to abuse from Markus, though this was far worse then anything that had been done to him before. He wishes Terrance were here.

"Calm down Terrance. It's going to be alright." Rita says hugging him tighter.

Terrance waits till Rita lets go and he decides to go check on Kirin. "I'll be right back," Terrance said to Rita as he went to the guestroom.

Dr. Taylor waits for an answer from Kirin.

"Kirin," Terrance said as he walked into the room, "I'm here to support you every step of the way."

"We're talking about pursuing charges against his attacker," Dr. Taylor said as he wrote down some more notes, "I can't tell you if you should or not, but maybe Terrance can advise you on this one."

Terrance nodded and wondered what the pros and cons would be of this. There would be mostly pros of course only a few cons.

Kirin just doesn't know what to do. "Would it really make a difference?" He asks softly. Rita goes to the kitchen and starts making up food.

"Hm..." Terrance said as he thought about some more cons now, "Well it may make a difference because if he's caught he can be sentenced to the full extent of the law. Then again..."

Terrance then remembered of one other case that they just let slip under the rug and he then sighed.

"It's up to you though, sometimes the court process can be painful and can have an emotional toll on you," Terrance said with all honestly, "Although we don't want him roaming the streets."

"I just... I don't know..." He whispers. He wants Terrance to make this choice. He just can't make it. He just can't. "I'll do whatever you think is best." He says to Terrance.

Terrance was thinking about which choice would be the best one. He does want Markus behind bars or at least want justice for Kirin, but then again he doesn't want his career in jeopardy because of this.

After thinking about it for a few seconds, he decided to pursue charges if they are able to catch him. Although the chances are slim. Dr. Taylor nods and takes down notes.

"So you guys are going to pursue charges on the attacker then?" Dr. Taylor asked, "And you consent to this, Kirin?"

Kirin just nods. "Um... Will I need to have a rape kit done?" he asks softly. He's still very overwhelmed by all this. He is shaking a bit. He just wants this to be over.

"That's how it usually goes," Dr. Taylor said as readjusted his glasses, "Usually most victims are unsure and some do want to pursue changes on the spot. If anything, Terrance is shaken up more by this than you are, Kirin."

Terrance just stand there. What Dr. Taylor said was defiantly true. He sighs and then realizes a few of the cons of pursuing charges against Markus. He didn't want negative media attention, but yet he wanted what was best for Kirin. Now this leaves him in a pickle. He sighs and wonders what the best choice would be.

"I think I'm still in shock." He says. That and he's trying to control his emotions for Terrance's benefit. "Do the rape kit, just in case." Though he knows they probably won't pursue it. Better to have it done.

Dr. Taylor nodded and then said, "I'll be right back, I have to get the kit from my car."

He goes to his car to get the kit. While Dr. Taylor goes to his car, Terrance assures Kirin it's ok to let his emotions flow and not to suck them all in. At this point Terrance is more concerned about Kirin being 'ok' and to try to move on after this ordeal.

"Rita is here by the way," Terrance said to Kirin as he was thinking about the pros and cons still, "The only thing about pursuing charges is it might give you and myself unwanted media attention."

He takes a deep breath and then his southern accent is more present as he talk, "I am use to media attention, both unwanted and wanted, but I am more concerned about you, Kirin. You're still young and have a lot of things to do. I just want to protect you..."

He sighs and then realizes he could only protect Kirin so much. He didn't know much about Kirin's past since he never asked nor it didn't really affect him too much. Terrance's past was no picnic either, but it was a fair past compared to Kirin's.

Dr. Taylor comes back with the kit and starts doing what he needs to do.

"I'm alright." He says with a smile that's forced. "I'm glad she's here." He says when he hears Rita is here. He just lets Dr. Taylor do what needs to be done, though he will be glad when the man leaves. He probably won't press charges, he knows the media attention wouldn't be good for Terrance. Though what he really wants he know he has no right to ask for.

Terrance sighs as his phone vibrates. "Not them again..." Terrance said He knows it's one of his congressional aides wanting to bother him about something. He sighs again and steps out for a second to text him for a a second or two.

Dr. Taylor finishes what he is doing, then explains to Kirin everything about his rights and privacy under the law.

Terrance comes back into the room and apologizes. He sighs as thoughts run through his mind about reelection. He wonders why are they focusing on it so soon. He isn't up till next term. Sometimes he wonders if he should try to groom a candidate from his home town to take his place.

Kirin gets dressed glad it's over. He goes and puts his arms round Terrance.

Terrance strokes Kirin's hair and hugs him. "You'll be ok, Kirin," Terrance said to Kirin, "you'll be ok..."

"Don't hold your emotions back this time," Terrance said as he strokes Kirin's hair some more, "It isn't good for you to do that now. I'm able to handle it."

As he tried to comfort Kirin, he remembers a time where he would have just been emotionless and didn't really 'care' about any one else's emotions for his own 'health'. He was thinking about doing it this time around, but he didn't want to hurt Kirin. His sister knows this side all too well and only a few of his political buddies. This was before he started using psych medicines to control his mutation. Now he doesn't use medicines anymore ever since he met Kirin, and started being real with himself.

"No... I don't want to hurt you." He says he is shaking a bit. "I don't want to hurt... you." He says a few tears slide down his cheeks. "Let's go see Rita."

Before they stepped out of the room, Terrance was kind of at unease. Maybe it was because Kirin was holding his emotions, and Terrance knew it would only hurt Kirin at the end. Terrance wouldn't feel anything this time, or maybe his mutation was at a standstill today. Who really knows.

"It's ok, Kirin, let it all out," Terrance said as he was being honest, "Whatever happens, let it be. I will be able to handle it. By holding emotions back, you're not only hurting yourself but also your partner to. Well eventually anyway."

Terrance had a slight flash back a haunting memory of his parents arguing. An argument that his sister instigated. Nothing bad really happened, but if his mom held back that emotion, eventually it would have gotten to her. It was at a point where his parents were going to split up. That's when he had to step in to tattle on his sister. She was mad at him because he told on her, but he had to. If he hadn't had told on his sister, their dad would have cracked or a domestic dispute would have happened.

He sighed and didn't want to 'lose' Kirin. He was more concerned about Kirin's well being and overall health than himself at this moment.

"I'll hurt you if I let it out... I don't want to hurt you." He whispers. He was more worried about Terrance. They head to the kitchen where wonderful smells are coming from.

Rita is in the kitchen. She is pulling a tray of homemade biscuits out of the oven. She looks up seeing them. She sets the biscuits down and just goes and hugs Kirin.

Kirin returns the hug.

Terrance smells biscuits as well and they smell like the ones his aunt usually makes. Unintentionally ignoring Rita and Kirin, he goes straight towards the biscuits and starts eating them one by one. Buttering them as he goes about eating them.

He looks around and then realizes he had to save some for Kirin and Rita, so he stops after biscuit number four.

"I'm sorry," Terrance said as he smiled slightly due to munching on biscuits, "I didn't mean to be a hog. Great biscuits by the way, Rita."

"Thanks. Just save some for Kirin. There is also home made soup." She says going and getting out bowls she fills them and puts the biscuits in a basket. She takes the soup to the table as well as spoons. "Now sit and eat." She says.

Terrance looks at the soup and then sits down. He tastes it and then starts to eat it one spoon full at a time. He also helps himself to some strawberry lemonade that was on the table.

"Hm..." Terrance said as he wiped his mouth and then decided to talk about his thought later.

As he was eating, he was thinking about many things at once, Kirin, Kirin's friend, his time in congress, who he might have the groom to take his place, and something that someone said a while back.

Kirin eats the soup silently and eats a couple of biscuits. He watches Terrance, worried for him. Worried that if he allows himself to break down what it will do to him. He can't deal with the thought that he might hurt his boyfriend. "I'm not going to press charges." He says after awhile.

Terrance kind of peaked into Kirin's mind for a bit, and then was thinking carefully what to say next. What he was going to say next could either reassure Kirin or 'harm' him. So he choose his words carefully as he thinking about his future in politics as well. Then he remembered the conversation he had with his sister long ago.

"Politics, that game is a dangerous game, baby brother," Rachael said, "Are you sure you can handle the back biting and the phonies?"

"I am sure, we need our own kind in office," a young Terrance said.

"Be ready to lose a part of yourself in the process," Rachael said as she sighed, "They don't care about our kind at the end of the day. Remember that, you're selling your soul if you go into this game. Hopefully for your sake you fall in love with a regular person."

"Why you say that?" a young Terrance asked.

"Because falling in love with your own kind, and being the force against them at the same time can hurt you," Rachael replied, "Remember, don't sell yourself out. If it gets too rough, back away."

"I don't know who I'm going to fall in love with, so why would that matter now." a young Terrance commented, "Besides, I can change my destiny..."

"I already know who you're going to fall in love with, so don't even bother trying to change your destiny," Rachael said as she already knew Terrance's future, "I know you'll be a good politician, but your partner will have a lot of baggage. Don't dump him now. Hopefully you back away from politics before it breaks you... Or your partner for that matter."

Terrance snaps out of the flashback and sighs. He knew he had to do what was best for his own good and for Kirin's well being.

"I don't know if I am going to run for another term," Terrance randomly said out loud, "it isn't because of you Kirin, it's because of something my sister said long ago. Oh sure she's evil and heartless at times, but she did say something that struck a cord with me ever since my political career started."

Kirin is silent for a bit thinking. "But you might run again," He whispers after awhile. "And I don't want to be the one to ruin any chance you might have to run again.

Rita wants to beg Terrance to stay in the game, because now that he's out he could do so much good. But she knwos it's not her place to say.

"I don't know about that," Terrance said as he remembered the rest of the conversation he had with his older sister, "There's only so much I can do as a politician. Also what else can I aim for besides senate. That's even a tougher game than congress, Kirin."

Terrance then reassures Kirin that whatever he does will not ruin his political career. Then he wondered if he should contact his sister, although they would most likely argue now due to their conflict of views, but maybe she could at least give him a better peak of his future.

Meanwhile on a rooftop somewhere, a middle age woman sighs as she looks up at the sky. She wonders how her brother is fairing. She then wonders if she should pay him a visit a little bit later.
