Ty nodded and started to walk over to the check out counter and opened the drawer pulling out a bottle of pain relievers. "When do you want to try this?" he asked as he popped the cap off and shook the bottle until three came out. He was normally only supposed to take two but he was hoping three would mess with the dream just a little bit.

"Do you want to go up to my room? I need something to take these with," Ty stated as he turned off the open sign and locked the front door keeping any customers from coming in. Ty then walked up next to the stair well and unlocked the door revealing the staircase. Ty pocketed the key and then turned around to look at Danny, his hand hovering over the light switch to turn off the lights in the shop but that all depended on Danny's answer. "What do you want to do?" he asked.

Tachigami 12-08-2012 07:20 AM

Danny focused for a moment on the bottle of pain relievers Ty had taken out. It took a powerful interior voice to not ask for one, or four. He'd finally gotten away from them and didn't want to go about it again, especially at such a time. It took a moment for Ty's voice to register, and the question to be understood. "Er, I'll come on up. Don't leave me in the dark!" He went forward and flitted through the doorway, taking the steps two at a time before pausing for Ty.

Danny feared being in the dark. Darkness invited sleep, and sleep too soon meant bad news beside bad dreams. "It'd probably be best to fall asleep as soon as possible." Danny added, recalling he hadn't answered Ty's other question. "Besides, I don't think I can last more than a couple more hours now." It was as though his body had built a tolerance for caffeine. Coffee and soda did absolutely nothing now.

Falconwing 12-09-2012 03:21 AM

Ty laughed, "I'm not going to leave you in the dark, idiot," he responded, saying idiot fondly as though it was a pet name. Ty shook his head, "Seriously, if I was going to turn the lights off on you I would not be waiting for you with my hand above the switch," Ty remarked with smile and turned on the light above the staircase motioning Danny up the stairs. Ty didn't turn off the lights in the store until Danny was in the stairwell.

Ty entered the stairwell and locked the door behind him only to run all the way up the stairs, running past Danny as he did so. Ty unlocked the door to his apartment and turned on the lights and walked into the room. "You coming or not?" Ty asked teasingly.

[[Again sorry it is short again]]

Tachigami 12-09-2012 04:14 AM

Danny jolted up the final few steps, ducking into the apartment and closing the door behind him. He'd been here plenty of times, but now it seemed so surreal. He almost convinced himself it was another dream and this time, he could interact with and see Ty more straightforward than ever before. But the fact that he could consider the concept that this was a dream put his mind at ease. Perhaps this time around he'd know if it were a dream, though, if he and Ty consciously placed themselves in that situation.

When he closed the door, Danny placed himself on the floor. Considering many late nights in front of a computer, lying and sleeping on the floor made the slight ache vanish entirely. But he didn't allow himself to lie back yet. It was too risky---and he was too unprepared.

Falconwing 12-09-2012 04:52 AM

"Dude, what are you doing? I have a bed. This isn't the stone age," Ty stated as he offered a hand to pull Danny off the floor with. If they were going to do this and dream together, Ty wanted them to be as close to each other as possible. He didn't want to dream on his own, not anymore.

Ty waved his hand infront of Danny's face. "Come on, grab it. You know I don't bite," Ty remarked giving a toothy grin. Ty bit his lip and patiently waited for Danny to grab his hand. "Come on, dude. Let's go."

Tachigami 12-09-2012 06:17 AM

Danny turned his gaze up and sighed. "But my back hurts." He whined, accepting the helping hand nonetheless and standing. "I guess I've been over the computer too long the past few days." He added with a slight chuckle. "Distracting..." He nodded. "Well, go lead on. Can't think of a better time than any to face our worst fears..."

He almost shivered at those words. Facing one's fears, figuratively, wasn't nearly as imposing and terrible as literally going face to face with horribly grotesque renditions of real-life terrors. He didn't fear for himself so much as Ty---what if he had an asthma attack while asleep? What if he didn't wake up in response? Danny didn't even want to consider that idea. There was little else to do now.

Falconwing 12-09-2012 06:23 AM

Ty pulled Danny up and did as he was told. Ty smiled at his bed and jumped back onto it. "Wait, do you need pajamas?" he asked quietly as he pulled himself up off of the bed and pulled off his shirt and put on his old basketball jersey. It was only good to sleep in now considering it would never need it again. Ty walked into his closet and shut the door behind him only to come out with gym shorts on too. He looked like he was going to play a game instead of sleeping.

"Which side do you want?" Ty asked motioning to the bed. Ty needed to make sure that he had his inhaler close to him but he also wanted Danny to feel comfortable in Ty's bed. Ty knew some people where very particular about where they slept. Some people only sleep on the right side of the bed while others only the left. Ty could sleep where ever on his bed just as long as they were using his bed.

Tachigami 12-09-2012 06:40 AM

Danny followed his young friend along, almost like a dog willing to go along with whatever this person wanted. Defeated, it seemed, he replied to half of what Ty said with a shake of the head, not quite understanding what was said. While his eyes wanted to see only darkness, his heart leapt in his chest, as if he were anticipating a visit from a much-hated family member. He knew the feeling all too well, and considered this sleep-invited demon to be just another person in his family he had to endure for a few hours. Only this time, instead of shaking with rage, he'd be shaking with fear.

"I don't have a preference." Danny said with a heavy tone as he understood his friend's 'which side' question. He considered for a moment, then stepped across the room, taking the side farther away from the door. Setting himself down, he fiddled with his shoes for a moment, managing to untie their laces after a frustrating moment. Before setting them by the wall near him, he checked their treads for any loose dirt or rocks---a habit of his since he disliked sweeping floors. Then he turned, falling back and pressing his hands to his eyes hard enough to let bursts of light explode in front of the darkness, pushing his glasses up onto his forehead. "God, I hope we can wake up..." He muttered. It was more to himself than Ty, but the words were a bit louder than he'd intended them to be.

Falconwing 12-09-2012 06:52 AM

Ty nodded and went to the other side of the bed, the side that carried his inhaler in it. "Hey... Danny... what should I do with this?" he asked as he pulled the inhaler out of his drawer and held it up. "I wish there was some way I could get it into the dream world with us. Do you think if I hung it on a necklace it would come with us?" Ty asked knowing that he was going to in a lot of trouble if he didn't bring it.

If they managed to get into the dream together that would add a level of reality to the dreamworld. If he was running against monsters or getting stressed out he would definitely need his inhaler, otherwise it would be worthless. He might as well take the pills tonight if he didn't bring the inhaler. Ty ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. "You hope we can wake up? I just hope we go in this together at this point," Ty admitted as he took a deep breath and waited to see if Danny had an idea about what to do with his inhaler.

Tachigami 12-09-2012 07:18 AM

Danny opened his eyes, blinking away the general blindness and flickering sparks in his vision. "I don't know what'll come with us into that world." He said. "If you put it in a pocket or hold it in your hand, maybe it'll come with you. We might be thrown into the world in different clothes, like what we've worn throughout our encounters with these terrors, and that means you won't have it. I've got a knife in my pocket right now, just in case, but it might not come with me when I'm there."

He ran a hand through his hair, now a nervous habit. "But you know, regardless of where we are, we might not appear in a shared dream at the same time. Or at all." He hid his face again and breathed out carefully. It was like they were sharing a circle of Hell all to themselves, keeping them barely alive and slowly maddening them. "If all this goes over, I'll have a hell of a lot to write about..." Danny laughed, a hollow sound, and calmed himself enough to close his eyes.

Falconwing 12-09-2012 07:25 AM

"Well I'm glad your so cheery about it," Ty muttered as he laid down on the side of the bed closest to the door and put his inhaler on the nightstand next to him. He would really rather not sleep with it because if he rolled over on it the wrong way it might break and then it would be useless. He would rather not have it at all and know that it works rather than having it and have it be broken. Ty took a deep breath and closed his eyes.

Ty laid like that for a minute before scooting closer to Danny in the bed. He kept moving until their shoulders were touching. Ty just needed to know that someone was there. That he wasn't alone. "Is this okay?" Ty asked as he closed his eyes again and took a deep breath. This was it. Ty hoped that it worked and that they got in together but if they didn't Ty didn't know what was going to happen next.

Tachigami 12-09-2012 07:45 AM

Danny ground his teeth. He'd gone several days, and now he couldn't quite settle down enough to actually sleep. He almost twitched at the sudden and slightly unknown touch, but instead, opened his eyes slightly. "Okay as it'll ever be." He muttered. He didn't necessarily think about his eyes closing, but they did. He didn't really focus anymore on anything beyond his range of hearing, of which there was little more than Ty's breathing and his own heart beating within his head, radiating from his chest.

He felt his limbs become heavy and didn't even mind anymore. He was sinking, almost, becoming less attached to the real world. Silence fell upon his ears, and only a slight thought crossed his mind. I prefer no dreams to horror...

Falconwing 12-09-2012 07:57 AM

Ty nodded and finally settled down for the night, his breathing slowing but becoming deeper. Ty closed his eyes and tilted his head to the side slightly, letting his cheek rest against the pillow. Ty laid still for several moments before his body started to get heavy and minutes later, Ty was sound asleep. Unlike usual, it took longer for his dream to start, actually had about 30 minutes of good sleep before the dream started but when it did it started like every other.Ty was in the dark and there was mist all around him.

"Hello? Danny?! Please tell me you are here with me!" Ty shouted as he slowly walked around, taking in as much of his surroundings as he possibly could. He didn't like this at all. He thought they would just start the dream right next to each other. He never realized that he might have to find Danny in the dream world and then when he found him how would Ty know if he was the real Danny or the Danny that always died in his dreams? What if they were no longer separate and were the same person? Ty shook his head to clear the thought from his mind. That wasn't going to happen. They weren't going to die... not like this!

Tachigami 12-09-2012 08:12 AM

Danny's eyes opened instantly. He was slightly blinded, then as things began to come into focus, he managed to feel around him. Hard surface... Rough. It felt like a road. Turning his head, Danny brought himself up on an elbow and was able to look around. He was lying in the middle of a road, and upon closer inspection, he recognized the road shaded by heavy oaks. Only now the leaves were shadowed in a dark black series of shadows, shrouded in mist, like the buildings so familiar to him. But they were so... ominous. And things were so silent. Not like the start of his dreams at all. Usually he was immediately swarmed by this or that, depending on the taste of the dream. But only silence, save a bit of whistling wind that didn't seem to rustle the leaves above him, could be heard. Ty's bookstore was just a few yards away.

Standing, Danny looked down. His feet had only socks. He wore the same jeans and light colored shirt he'd worn when he fell asleep, but no shoes because he'd taken them off. Reaching up, he found his glasses on his face. Sweeping his gaze along the street, he didn't see much more besides cars parked here and there. No lights. No Ty.

"Ty!" Danny's voice was oddly muffled in the bare area. Running, now, to the bookstore, he found the door stuck, but it cracked a bit around the jamb. It wasn't locked as much as it was stuck. Ramming it, Danny broke it free and stepped into the store. All the shelves were bare, except a couple books lying on the topmost shelf. But it didn't concern him as much as Ty's location. The most logical place would be here, or upstairs, or somewhere nearby. But these dreams were hardly logical. "Ty! Where are you, kid!? Can you hear me?" Here, his voice echoed despite the carpet and furniture. What if Ty were in his own dream, and he and Danny were separated? This was all Danny's fault, in the end. He had talked the kid into it. Panic enlivened him. "Ty! Ty!" He wove around the bookshelves; the floor was larger than he recalled.

[[I could scream!!! I hate how mene's RP pages expire!!!! And then when you submit it, it won't post it! Then when you go back, your reply isn't even in the text box anymore!!! I just wrote three long paragraphs!!!]]

"Danny!!! Danny?!!! Can you-!!!" Ty was interrupted by a fit of coughs, his asthma was starting to act up. All this yelling was not good for him at all. Quickly, Ty searched for a wall, anything just to lean against and calm down. Several moments later he found one and immediately leaned back on it only to slide down until he was sitting on the ground. Ty closed his eyes and focused on his breathing trying to be ask calm as possible. Once he felt the moment had passed, Ty stood up again and started walking along the wall looking for an exit.

Ty winced as he jammed his fingers into a object that was protruding slightly from the wall. Cursing in pain, Ty traced the outline of the object. It was rectangular kind of like a door frame. Ty's eyes widened; it was a door frame! Frantically, Ty felt around the sides of the door for the knob only to smile when he found it. Ty immediately opened the door and stepped into the room, closing the door behind him.

Upon closer inspection, Ty realized he knew exactly where he was. He was in his room. "Danny!!!! Danny?!!! Where are-!!" Ty's yelling was abruptly cut off by another series of coughs. Ty shook his head, his throat hadn't completely recovered from the last time he shouted. Ty walked up to his bed and laid back on it and focused on his breathing.

Tachigami 12-09-2012 09:28 PM

Danny sighed, finally coming back to where he started. The floor was oddly elongated now, as if it were three times as large as it was in reality. Glancing around, he found the shelf that contained a couple books, only two, sitting side by side. Reaching up, he pulled them both down off the shelf and studied their covers. Both were his. Dark Descent and Memory Regained, books he'd written a couple years after Millie's death. He'd drawn the emotions conveyed in the books from his own still lingering guilt and spiral into depression, the hollow feeling of being completely and utterly alone, a bane on humanity. Yet the plots varied, and drew in horror and supernatural aspects to alter the reality of the happenings. The covers were red. That was odd---he'd specified dark purple backdrops, which was what he'd gotten.

He jumped hard at the sudden call above him. It was Ty. Ty! Dropping the books, Danny flew from between the shelves and looked around. Above him. Obviously Ty was in his apartment. But how had he not heard Danny? It was best not to question the logic of a twisted nightmare. He ran to the door leading to the stairwell, managing to open it and sprint up, opening the door to Ty's apartment. "Ty? You in here?" He stared around. Everything seemed to be viewed by a very old camera lens, gray and a bit grainy, fuzzy in a way even through Danny's glasses. "Ty...?"

Falconwing 12-09-2012 09:41 PM

Ty leaned up slightly from where he was lying on the bed and quietly raised his arm to wave at Danny. "H-Hey," Ty stated as he laid back down on the bed and closed his eyes to focus on his breathing. He hated this. He was so weak. Ty banged on the headboard with his fist. He couldn't even hardly yell. Ty bit his lip and took slow shallow breaths just trying to get as much air into his lungs as he could without it getting caught.

Ty reached for the draw and pulled it open, grimacing when the inhaler wasn't in there. In fact, there was nothing in there other than a few sheets of paper. Ty frowned and pulled the papers out of the drawer frowning when he saw them. They were the result of his physical deeming him unfit to play anymore. Ty shook his head, he got rid of those. He put it with his medical records in the safe at his mother's house. There was no way they could be here!

Ty crumbled up the sheets of paper and threw them to the floor before shutting the drawer. Laying back on the bed again, Ty looked back at the floor, his eyes widening when he saw the records in perfect shape. They looked like he hadn't crumbled them up at all. How was that possible?!

Tachigami 12-10-2012 09:11 PM

Danny sighed in relief when Ty responded. At least they were in the same place now. But how could it be that Ty hadn't heard him? Had he not heard Ty before? He went around to the other side and sat, glancing at Ty as he fiddled around in the drawers of his bedside table. It didn't look like his inhaler was there, but... what was that? Paper? It obviously was to Ty's dislike, so Danny didn't ask about them. Instead, he put his head in his hands. What were they going to do now? Were they trapped in the dream? And why wasn't anything happening!? That was much more unnerving than anything else, to say the least.

"Danny." A voice called out, apparently from a distance. Glancing up, he looked around. Ty didn't seem to hear it, though it sounded like a young woman. Like Millie. He shook his head. Not her. She never appeared here. Not in his nightmares. While he didn't see her, the voice was all that was needed.

A smash sounded from the window outside, like that of heavy machinery falling to pavement. Gasping, Danny looked around, but things had become blurry. They faded, slowly, to black, and when he blinked, he found himself looking at the ceiling above him, once more through color-vision and lack of misty fog. He was awake. Sitting up, Danny took his glasses off and covered his eyes. Was that it?

Falconwing 12-10-2012 10:44 PM

Ty jumped at the smashing sound and shot up in his bed covered in sweat. "S***," Ty swore as he opened the drawer in the nightstand and pulled his inhaler out of it. Ty looked at the inhaler with a look of relief and shook it before placing the lip into his mouth. Pressing the metal canister down, Ty breathed in pulling the released medication into his lungs. Ty held his breath for moment, letting the medication settle before exhaling.

"Next time remind me to wear shoes and to wear this thing on a necklace," Ty stated as he turned to look at Danny before laying back down. "Jeez, that was a hell of a dream wasn't it? That was the real you in my dream, wasn't it? You sat on the bed next to me?" he asked as he ran his hand through his hair.

"Jeez, I'm still tired. I think we were asleep for maybe thirty minutes at most," he muttered as he turned his clock taking a look at it. "Yep, thirty minutes. Lovely," he grumbled as he leaned back up and ran his hands through his hair. He was just thankful that he wasn't losing his hair but the bags under his eyes told a completely different story.

Tachigami 12-12-2012 02:36 AM

Danny sat up and shook his head. It sounded like a garbage truck outside, beeping, smashing, voices yelling, then the brakes letting up before it went off again. "Damn. What a sound." He muttered. Reaching down, Danny grabbed his shoes and slipped them back on. "Yeah, that was me in the dream. I found you, but... I don't know. That was so... strange." He glanced around at Ty as he checked his alarm clock.

"I've never had these dreams go nowhere." He said. "It showed me my published books, then I heard Millie's voice. Then there was nothing because that... sound woke us both up." He fell backward, covering his eyes and glasses. "I guess I was right when I thought the dreams would occur simultaneously if we were asleep in the same area. But they must be... must be... toying. Toying with us." The fog of sleep had yet to lift, and suddenly it was right there again. Pushing. A weight on his chest calmed his racing heart, and dropped him back down out of reality.

Falconwing 12-12-2012 04:47 AM

Ty leaned up and got up off the bed and grabbed his old pair of basketball shoes before walking up to his dresser. "Oh I know they are freaking toying with us. That sheet of paper," Ty trailed off as he opened a wooden box pulling a long silver chain from it, "it was my results from my physical from last year deeming me unfit to play ever again," he muttered as he sat back down on the bed shaking his head.

"S***," he swore softly as he pulled on his socks and his shoes, tying them tightly like he used to right before a game. "I can't believe this!" he shouted as he put his inhaler on the chain. "Danny I haven't been so frustrated in my life. That day... it was so humiliating!" he shouted as he hung the chain around his neck. "I... I hate this.... I haven't thought about this since then. Dang it," he whispered running his fingers through his hair.

Tachigami 12-13-2012 04:32 AM

Almost asleep. Danny had almost completely fallen through the veil until he was surprised by Ty's shout. He gasped slightly, lifting himself up as well as he could before relaxing. It was still difficult to calm himself, despite thinking that, perhaps, the dreams had become more quiet, lonely places. But not necessarily; they were still trying to toy with both of them. "Best thing... better to sleep. see if we can get to a conclusion." He muttered.

Now, he seemed not to care if the dreams killed him. He worried only for Ty. Were he to be taken down and trapped within this world that would destroy his mind, he hoped Ty would at least get out. He was still young and, despite having a physical problem that killed his first dream, he could find something else worthwhile to live for. Those ideas faded as, this time, Danny completely lost his will, and fell completely away from reality.

Falconwing 12-13-2012 05:55 AM

Ty frowned at Danny's comment but nodded. It felt strange to get under the covers with his shoes on just shrugged the feeling off and curled up next to Danny. Ty closed his eyes and wrapped his hand around the silver chain around his neck reassuring himself that he wasn't leaving without his inhaler. Ever so slowly, Ty's breathing became heavier and heavier as he came closer to sleep. Subconsciously, Ty pressed his back against Danny's side before he slowly slipped away into the dream world completely.

Ty moaned as he felt himself wake up in the dreamworld. Ty wrapped his hand around his silver necklace and smiled in relief that it was still there. Now he only hoped that this time he woke up next to Danny.

Tachigami 12-13-2012 06:05 AM

Here he was. In a world not of his own creation. Not of his own control. Something like reality, but things were so much more predictable in reality. So much more... real. Now... What could happen? Would they wake up as easily as they did last time? Danny's eyes were glassy as they stared at the pattern on the ceiling. It was gray. Not beige. Gray, like an old movie. He was back. But if he moved... something might happen. And if he moved, and Ty wasn't there... His jaw clenched.

A sudden shock sent him up, sitting stock still as he stared around. Nothing was there. Nothing had made a sound, nor had it moved. Glancing to his side, Danny sighed in relief that Ty was actually there. There, for once, and this time, not the Ty that would die horribly. Or at least, Danny hoped. Slowly, he stood on shaky legs and stretched. This time he had his shoes. Ty would most likely have his inhaler, making it a bit easier this time around for him. Unless something...

Danny shook his head. "Looks like we're back in Hell." He said flatly. He went to the window, glancing out. The street was there. But no trees were in sight.

Falconwing 12-13-2012 06:42 AM

Ty smiled as he caught Danny's eye, "Thank heavens you are here. I was afraid I was going to wake up alone again," he admitted as he got up and stretched. Ty took a step forward and frowned at how loud the wood beneath his feet whined in protest.

"Where are we?" he asked as he looked around the room. He had never been here before and chances were neither had Danny; in fact it looked like no one had visited in a while.

Ty frowned as he noticed some of the wall paper was coming off the walls. In other areas of the room it looked as through the wall paper had been ripped off the actual wall. Ty careful walked across the room and examined an old dresser and explored it's various drawers to see if he found anything of use. The state of the room was kind of depressing, the dresser itself had lost almost if not all of it's furnish. Ty shook his head and closed the last draw before turning to Danny.

"I don't like this. It's really creepy," Ty admitted as he wrapped his arms around himself. It never occurred to him to bring a jacket; basketball uniforms weren't really known for retaining heat.
