I don't think so much the music affects people, unless it's very explicit, ie: Marilyn Manson and his songs about suicide and the like, rap groups glorifying the 'thug life'; so much as the lifestyle behind the music, aka the 'scenes'. Rock scenes these days seem to be very pretentious and stuck up, and people getting into a certain band can get sucked into the personality. People who listen to a lot of hardcore rap often get sucked into the lifestyle they're hearing about. You know?
