I, the Breeze, Loved a Lily

When the sun released its flare
And the moon hid its face from the blinding light
I spun golden baubles into your hair
And whispered dreams of a lily-white night

You lay in my arms silently
Eyes closed so your ears gave me all their attention
A single dew-drop on each pale eyelid
I resisted the longing to kiss them away
For it would mean the breaking of the day

I turned you around silently
Swaying in place
A soundless waltz that lasted forever
And one second
You left my embrace and stood watching me
With those dew-drops tracing trails down your pale cheeks
