Frowning, Lea glared up at the stormy skies from her cover underneath the awning of the abandoned building she and her sister called home. It had been raining for far too long now, and she and Sophia were out of money.

"Lea, can we go? It's cold," Sophia complained, rubbing her arms. "Not to mention I'm soaked and want to dry off."

Lea sighed, and turned back to her younger sister. "Alright Phee, we'll go to the tavern. Maybe I can tell a few fortunes and get some money. Then we could get something hot to drink."

Sophia wrinkled her nose. "Don't call me that," she pouted, "you know I hate it. And there's no need to worry about money," she said with a mischievous grin. Sophia rooted around in a pile of colorful scarves and pulled out a small leather bag. "I nicked this from the baker, who so thoughtfully had it out in plain sight while he was with the fruit seller." Proudly, she emptied the contents into the more colorful wool bag that was lying empty next to Lea's goat, Dalia.

"All the same, I'm going to try and earn some money at the tavern, so we can last out this strange weather." Lea tied a green and yellow scarf around her shoulders as a shawl, put on a long chain with a large fake onyx stone hanging off it, and slid several gold bangles onto her wrists. Finally, she grabbed a worn pack of cards and urged up Dalia from the ground.

"Alright, let's go!" Sophia said impatiently, then headed for the tavern. Lea just grinned and followed her sister, with Dalia trotting along behind her.
