"Careful sweet Alice.. these flowers are not what they seem." A nearby daffodil huffed at that and a moment later a large raindrop landed on one of her petals. The Hatter stumbled to find the right words "Of course they are lovely. Anyone can see.. but how shall I say this?" The Hatter hoped to say the right thing, or he and Alice were in for a very trying time "The flowers are very delicate" he said that word with feeling hoping that Alice might pick up on it, "they must be treated kindly."
The daffodil seemed pleased but a tiny snapdragon nipped at his ankles and he yelped. "Let's uh.. continue toward the house." They could see it now. It was very... modest. Just this side of being a hovel. The thatched roof could stand to be replaced but it was better than standing about outside.
