Laughing at Alice? The very idea made him giggle. Which was admittedly ironic. He was about to explain himself that he only laughed to divert the attention of the vindictive flora but then she said only HE would not lock his door. Somehow this made his heart swell. It felt like an overinflated balloon. He still could not believe she would regard him so warmly and then.. THEN she pulled him into the hovel-house. His feet actually left the ground. It wasn't that she pulled him so hard. Rather that he was already very nearly floating.
The hovel-house was filled to bursting with waistcoats, corsets, pantaloons and other fabulous fashions. Aside from the perilously stacked piles of books there wasn't much too it. "Well. That's um.. ah.. this is... well... anyway the roof should hold and" He smiled sheepishly "I'll find you a chair." He tossed aside a small mountain of clothing and presented a tufted cushioned chair. A rumble of thunder sounded in the distance. Or maybe it was just the Queen grumbling again. A nervous bit of laughter bubbled out at the thought.
