I think there are a few times having a character like that is okay. For example--it took me ten years of roleplaying with a character, writing stories as well, for him to be considered perfect--after that long of a time put into the chcaracter, I think it's okay to think of him as perfect. Now, the term Mary Sue I'm used to just constantly explains the character over and over and over. For example:
"The blue eyes of the man look like the ocean. The deep blue oceanic eyes glimmer the hope of tomorrow. With this hope it shows that he truly is mankind's savior. The eyes which..." it continues to explain the eyes when it should just stop. This new "mary sue" definition is unique, to me. But yes--that's how I feel. If the roleplayer just made up the character and says they're perfect in every way without any real history of the character, or time spent roleplaying with them, then it's annoying.
