Hey all! For those RP board frequenters out there, you've surely seen seldom of me... I only come around here once in a while, looking for something that normally ends up not existing here on Mene. I blame my critical eye and apathy towards Japanophilia, but more importantly I don't want to waste my time with people who'll end up disappointing me in the end. Yeah, I know. Great opening, right?

So, assuming I haven't chased you away just yet, let's cut to the chase! Don't come a-knockin' unless you can honestly call yourself:
  • i. An above-average speller.
  • ii. A creative mastermind capable of defying convention... Honestly, as a writer you should be able to give this an honest attempt.
  • iii. A patient person.
  • iv. Someone with a sense of humor... preferably more on the dark side of the spectrum of humor.
  • v. An improviser; while I occasionally like to have a rough mental outlook on my own characters' situations and what they'll get out of the RPs, I rarely think it all the way through down to their choice of going through Door A or Door B. So be ready for one helluva ride, or at least an attempt at one.

Now, what am I looking for, you ask? In order of preference:
  • i. First and foremost, modern fantasy. One of the most intriguing genres to me, although poorly-underplayed by me. This can be as original or unoriginal as we mutually choose.
  • ii. Secondly, medieval fantasy. Leave your Renaissance Faire misconceptions behind; I don't do the fancy dialogue with archaic inflections and pronouns. Oh, and forests are a thing of the past. Which, while applicable, we won't be touching... At least in the beginning of the RP, anyway. Hopefully our characters will move around a bit.
  • iii. Historical. Ask about specific time periods etc. and I shall respond. Mind you, I'm more interested in ancient stuff than I am with the bland American History that's been nailed into my skull for the past ten years. Which may require research on both of our parts, but... If you're up for it, I am!
  • iv. Horror. Something new to me, but, as always, I'm willing to learn and amble through it. I always prefer stuff on the more psychological side of things as opposed to blood and gore, although both are applicable. I'd probably depend heavily on you constructing an entire RP scenario around this option, since otherwise I'm afraid it'd turn out like Clue meets Rocky Horror Picture Show while vacationing up in Maine with Kathy Bates, a la Misery.
  • v. Something FUNNY. Entirely lighthearted, maybe with a bit of plotting... Along with a bit of inspirational value. Or not. Whatever floats your boat (and thus floats mine as well). I'd love to have the chance to RP a character that drops houses on others, for example.

... Hope there's enough reading material here for you to reply and come up with stuff. 'Cause my brain kinda hurts from typing this out!
Don't feel afraid to respond. :) And take your time! I'll be here all night. ;)
(And/or century, for that matter...)
