Mariæth was inwardly thrilled at the reaction her announcement created. But, mindful that she had to keep up a façade of concern for the Malfoys' well-being, at least in front of Narcissa, she hurried after her aunt, who was in the kitchen preparing tea.
"Please, Aunt Cissy," Mariæth said soothingly, "don't be alarmed.
