"You too," Draco replied. "So, Veronica, tell me a little about yourself?" he asked, looking interested.
He wasn't actually sure why in the world he asked that, and more importantly, why he cared. He usually didn't care to know trivial information, but he wanted to get to know this mysterious girl. He didn't want to ask her why she was here since she might not want to tell, but his question could just be answered by her talking about her favorite subjects, which is why he chose the words he did. He figured that as a Slytherin, albeit a new one, she'd understand that.
Most of the others at the table weren't actually staring at her, but Draco knew they were just as interested as he.
After Severus had finished most of his meal, he rose, fluidly, and swept over to Potter's table. Potter didn't look very pleased with his friends at the moment, but Severus reminded himself that he really did not care. "Potter!" he said, loudly enough for Potter and his friends to hear.
In the moment Severus was waiting for Potter to turn around, he nearly forgot why he was there in the first place, which was, of course, to schedule lessons. Instead, he noticed what a lovely backside the boy had. "Damn! I did not just entertain that thought," he thought angrily, thinking instead of the Pepper-up Potion he needed to brew for Poppy Pomfrey after he could escape from the Feast. He'd get out as soon as he talked to the imbecile in front of him.
