Severus glanced back, seeing Harry hesitate. "Potter, this neighborhood is not one in which you'd want to get lost," he whispered haltingly. Good, the boy was following him. Really, the boy acted as if Severus only wanted to reprimand him for something, anything, everything. Oh, wait, that's right, he did. Didn't he? Of course he did. He glanced back at the boy, who was now following him at a good pace. Damn, he couldn't find anything for which to reproach the boy. Then he decided he'd spent much too much time even thinking about it, which was actually very unusual. Usually, he'd just notice something for which to make a snide remark and do it, rather than it being a conscious effort. He forced himself to think about the new article in Potions Quarterly about dandelion roots and what he would have done to improve it.
Soon enough, of course, they were at his house. He hated the thing. "Here, Potter, is my house. This is where you will be spending your summer," he told the boy in an annoyed tone.
