The Protagonists

Vερ Ανιμι - Mount Olympus Base

[IMGLEFT]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v625/Celestria-san/Athena_on_the_tomb_II_by_SilvieTepes.jpg[/IMGLEFT]Athena, the "goddess of wisdom" according to the Greeks, was truly an Atlantian by birth. Her odd powers were discovered fairly quickly in her life. After not aging a day at infancy until well past her parents were passed on, she was taken in by the institute. There, a few centuries later, Athena began to develop like a child should. When she was her equivalent of 3 years old (that was approximately 1200 years by normal earth years) she began displaying another gift: a vast almost omnipotent share of knowledge and wisdom. With these gifts, the girl eventually grew into a spry young woman. At this point in her life she was great help to the institute in many ways from general operations to its overall growth. She went into Greece and met the "gods and goddesses" to offer her wisdom to them, and to help establish the Atlantian school's presence into ancient Europe. It was through this effort that Athena so named the institute Vερ Ανιμι, a title derived from the greek words courage and truth. VA owes much of its spread and progression to her. Eventually she did marry, secretly within the organization, and later (after a surprisingly normal pregnancy) gave birth to her only child--a baby girl Minerva. Sadly, Athena is no longer with Vερ Ανιμι. The woman of wisdom perished in the burning of the library at Alexandria.

Big Brother (Greggory Hinesmen) Greggory is a permanent resident of the base under Mount Olympus. He can also see and hear around the globe. They call him 'Big Brother' because of his ability to instantly produce clones of himself. Each clone follows his exact mental commands and he retains all the information they learn. These clones take a tole on Greggory to make however, limiting his physical strength. Confined to a wheelchair at most times he feeds information to and from VA headquarters around the world. Being such a vast tank of incoming information, Greggory is an invaluable member of the alliance. One of his clones can be found at just about every major base worldwide.

[IMGLEFT]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v625/Celestria-san/alien.jpg[/IMGLEFT]
Krust (SKHO!nlk ubotin Begorrean) Krust is proof that Area 51 is a cover-up, but not by the U.S. Government. In the evening hours of July 4, 1947, several small orange streaks blazed across the sky of New Mexico. Most people who saw these assured themselves they were only fireworks. But these were in fact the landing crafts of the Nu-undu alien race. These beings hail from a small asteroid commonly known as pluto. They came to earth under the protection of VA as the last survivors of a terrible plague. The remaining members (twenty-three) have abilities, though normal for them, would humans consider supernatural. Krust being the leader of these endangered, noble people; is a ranking member of VA. Krust has aquired a vast knowledge of the human race through sheer volume of study, and maybe a bit from being 352 human years old. Krust's abilities stem from his mind. He is able to move himself and objects through telepathy, however, it takes considerable concentration. Before any battle, Krust must take a moment to center his chi, or as he calls it: "Reproaching death."
[IMGLEFT]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v625/Celestria-san/lemma.jpg[/IMGLEFT]
Lemma Lemma is actually her real birth name. She hails from a planet that is much warmer than ours with a jungles covering most of it. All of her species grow up to be very tall darker skinned females, as humans would percieve them anyways. Looking so much like humans, this alien race has mingled very easily with the native populous--even reaching into stardom in recent pop culture. (A couple of Lemma's friends went on to join the WNBA, though their names cannot be disclosed for security purposes). The Vερ Ανιμι saw them for what they really were, and soon they were welcomed into the group. Lemma is here in Hopemills to help the relationship between her planet and Earth grow through a friendship with the Vερ Ανιμι.

Gilliam (AVAI-1143v2.3.2 build 21) Gilliam as he chooses to call himself. It highly advanced Artifical Intelligence that has nearly complete access to all AV systems. Created by a joint project between Linus Torvalds, Leonard Adleman, Gordon Lyon and a hacker who went by the name Gilliam the Great. Once the AI was created, it took the name of the major contributor, calling Gilliam the Great: "father." Gilliam also decided to take on the attributes of his "father," and now uses a somewhat risque irish accent, and a never ending desire for alcohol. Thus far, Gilliam has never been able to consume any carbon based substance, much less alcohol. But Gilliam would beg to differ. Though his somewhat rough tone, Gilliam now contributes major amounts of tatical information to all members of the VA. He is a present at nearly every base within VA. Most members interact with Giliam in two ways: 1. Is a small handheld reciever that talks to both other VA members and Gilliam. The second is a series of cameras that Gilliam uses to view any room within the walls of every VA base. His structure, though beyond the comprehension of most VA members, relies on no particular machine or base. And his distributed system allows him to reach both the internet and all the other bases. Unfortunately, Gilliam is restrained to the confines of technology. He is only able to communicate to branches of himself if he is connected. And loss of power causes him to quickly shutdown. Gilliam is a true AI, the only one present on earth, or known through out this sector of the Galaxy. And has learned to not only take an Irish accent, but also the meaning of feelings and how to express and feel them. New VA members quickly began to learn this, especially girls. His imprudence seems to know no bounds.

Vερ Ανιμι - Hopemills Base

[IMGLEFT]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v625/Celestria-san/Young_Lady_by_cristianocosta.jpg[/IMGLEFT]
Minerva Athena's daughter, so named for what the Romans called Athena herself. Minerva inherited all of her mother's abilities, in almost greater measure. Born in 45BC, she never got to know her mother, as she was still an infant when the great library burned. Though, she would soon prove to be as important to the alliance...much quicker than Athena. Minerva began displaying evidences of her wealth of knowledge within her first 400 years of life. Despite her physical limitations, which prevented her from doing a lot of verbal explanation, Minerva was already on her way to the top level seats before she could really call herself a one year old. As she continued to grow, she helped greatly in further expansion of the VA institute into making it a full-fledged alliance of thousands of schools across the globe. (In fact, she established a presence in the continents of the Americas well before the Spanish or English ever set foot on the 'New World's' soil). Today, at her equivalent of 5 years of age, she is the second in command of the entire organization. Her being located at the Hopemills base was for protection measures, and for easy of information transfer.
[IMGLEFT]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v625/Celestria-san/thedog.jpg[/IMGLEFT]
The Dog (Oobo) In public he appears to be a normal dog, but the people at Vερ Ανιμι in Hopemills, Virgina know him differently. Once a dog used for experiments at a local laboratory, Oobo has since then escaped and after displaying the ability to turn into something compareable to a werewolf and the ability of human speech was picked up by Vερ Ανιμι immediately; his exsistance covered up. After arriving at his new home Oobo proved to have a unnaturally high intellegence that could rival or best most of the scientists at the lab he was previously held. Eventually Oobo was made head of the strategic department in the Hopemills headquarters. Susanne and Oobo share a undeniable bond, though Oobo might say differently. Often they are seen together and when the need arrises for one of them to go out into public they travel together.

[IMGLEFT]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v625/Celestria-san/sue.jpg[/IMGLEFT]
Silver Sentinel (Susanne Lumbodi) Susanne has been with the VA since she was a child. Her special talents were discovered quickly by her parents. Sue is legally blind, being as she's abnormally color blind. She has a highly rare form of monochromacy, or total color blindness, where not only can she not distinguish any hue, but if things are in the same color family or do not have a strong enough contrast, it will all blur together. (An example would be if a bed had a blue comforter and blue pillows on top, she would not be able to really distinguish the pillows resting on the bed). However, miraculously, Susanne does understand what color looks like. This is through her special abilities. She can see the colored auras around people and translate what they mean. Through this power, she can detect and locate potential new members for the VA. People with special powers, she says, all have a special kind of aura. This ability has put her had the head of Hopemills' recruitment office. Susanne spends most of her time out at the local coffee shops (or tea parlors as she calls them) with Oobo--who refuses to let her go anywhere by herself due to her poor vision. She's a very free spirited young woman with a fancy for things more "dainty" and "frilly"...lolita and elegant Victorian/Gothic.
[IMGLEFT]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v625/Celestria-san/feral.jpg[/IMGLEFT]
Feral (Jamie Phicter) Jamie was raised by his grandfather, who is a shaman for his tribe. Jamie is a mix of Native American and Caucasian. He happened to inherit the same powers that his grandfather has, the ability to turn into different types of animals. Feral's grandfather trained him to control his powers, sending Jamie to the VA at a young age. Jamie has been at the VA in Hopemills for nineteen years, and in the last five was made the scout leader of the base. Jamie hopes to some day return to his people and replace his grandfather as their spiritual leader. Overall, he is known for his quiet demeanor; much like a predator stalking its prey (he's still a pretty nice guy though).

[IMGLEFT]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v625/Celestria-san/weasel.jpg[/IMGLEFT]
Weasel (Jack Raven) Weasel has always been a active child. The VA had their eye on him after Jack beat the record for the Virginia state elementry school sprinting competition by nearly a minute. He went on to compete in the nation wide event, placing second even though the day before he had bruised the bone in his leg while goofing off with friends. Jack was recruited into the VA in middle school and they determined that weasel, as he called himself, was a descendant of Hermes. He excelled in the physical tests thrown his way and proved to be a master at most things that required physical talent. Later he was proclaimed as the top physical instructor at the headquarters of his hometown, Hopemills. When not training or teaching a class, he can often be found doing his hobby: free running and parkour.

[IMGLEFT]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v625/Celestria-san/TheV.jpg[/IMGLEFT]
The V (Mike Virscotoci) Mike chose his alias based on the shape of his body, with a fit abdomen region leading up to broad muscle bound shoulders V was the perfect letter. He was training to become a New Jersey body builder. One night Mike and a group of his friends were driving back from a party during a tornado watch. Their car flipped and Mike was struck by lightning, twice. The V awoke in the hospital to find that he had telepathic powers. After admitting this and attempting to convince many people the VA approached him and offered to help Mike understand his powers... in secrecy. Mike accepted and worked hard to understand his powers. Eventually he was transferred to the VA headquarters at Hopemills and was offered the job of top mental trainer.
