My gosh, I've seen some incredible avatars. The layers and complexity of colour combinations is awe-inspiring! I absolutely adore all these new ideas and fresh avatars.
And, you need to get out of your shells every so often. I used to be just like what you described when I was younger. I think it came from being bullied and having tough parents when I was small that contributed to being so shy and timid. It was in middle school when I suddenly blossomed into a social butterfly and have been steadily becoming more bold since. Any party or meeting I attend I'm remembered, and people remember your impressions because of your confidence. And it can go beyond making friends.
I mean, doesn't it seem silly to be afraid of calling someone on the phone? Even a restaurant? It never hit me how silly I was until I really thought about it; same with purchasing condoms, "lady products", etc., and being afraid of the cashier.
