All the dragging and then the punching just wasn't what Nick was looking forward to. Day one and he was already making an ass of himself.
When Hiro and Jacob exchanged names, Nick pipped up just quick enough to through his own name in. "Nick. The dark one... if that wasn't evident."
The dragging got old really fast. His butt was even beginning to sting a bit. Finally the choking and dragging stopped, but he kind of wished it hadn't because a fist to the stomach wasn't too comforting.
He tried his best to suppress what came next, but the dehydration, dragging, and punching just pushed him over the edge. With an empty stomach, the contents that were spilled on the ground were in their rawest form. Wiping the vomit from his face, Nick fell back beside his own used-to-be innards.
With the sun fading behind the horizon, Nick could feel some strength come back into his veins, but he was still too exhausted to move or even argue. His eyes just continued to jump from hero to hero.
Finally gathering some strength, Nick snaked his way over to Kris. It took a little longer than he hoped, but when he was finally near her blinding bubble, Nick spoke up.
"Angel, we need to talk. Could you stop blinding me for sixty seconds. I swear, if I piss you off... I'll be your personal punching bag. You can hit and abuse me all you want."
Back now propped against the bench, he let his black fringe flop back. "I know you can hear me. So would you just give me a chance?" He paused to frown. "It's not like I'm trying to hurt you... you know. If I was trying... it would... it would hurt more."
