It was odd how everything changed. He was once such a well respected and adored young man, but now he hid his face from the world.

He swindled away hours of his life working on new creations, but more specifically, a cure for non-humans. It was to be injected directly into the spinal cord of said being, but the accuracy needed was far too challenging. Seeking out an easy kill trigger, Varick worked on creating weapons that glowed with such a power. Should a bullet be fired from the barrel of a gun, the bullet's coating would kill on impact. Made of silver, it would thwart any werewolf that dared cross his path. For vampire creatures, Varick was working on creating blades whose core harnessed the power of UV light. One slice and the foul beast would die.

Hands crossing under his chin, Varick looked up at the tower of books that surrounded him.

"Butler," his hollow eyes glistened in the dimming candle light, "add wood. It looks like I'll be pulling another all nighter. I must finish these weapons for war is upon us."
