There's a Radiohead song Peter Gabriel covered on that album of covers he did recently that's downright depressing. I mean, Radiohead AND Gabriel can both be downers, so you have the one cover the other and it's gonna get gloomy.

Both Berlin and Magic and Loss by Lou Reed are pretty gloomy, as was Radio Kaos by Roger Waters. Shannon Wright is usually pretty gloomy too.
