Jill shifted her position again, sighing in relief when the cold was chased away. "You did that?" As though she answered her own question, the blonde closed her eyes and took a slow breath. "That's handy. The heat - it's . . . nice." With a wry smile, the girl looked up at Kaden's face again. Listening, she didn't respond . . . at first. It was after a few moments of silence when she replied. Her mind took long enough to fathom what he'd said and formulate a response.
"I haven't gone to school in years," she said quietly. "Papa let me work in the garage with him. I started working at the shop as soon as I could." Cars to guns - that was how her life went. "Have you ever worked?" Her words were a bit mumbled, and her fingers slowly stopped twisting Kaden's hair.

"You shouldn't turn away from help just because Xavier enjoys it." His eyes were burning embers now, and he inclined his head as the woman went to hit him. Her hand dropped. "You shouldn't leave like this." Truthfully, he was trying not to beg - he wanted her to come back. What would he do without her company? There was no one worth talking to if she wasn't there.
Dante swallowed, taking in the fact that Kyreian was shaking. Her trembling brought his thoughts to comfort, though he was still frustrated. Ignoring caution, the male's hand moved to her cheek. The tall youth stepped closer, finally catching her against the wall and trapping her there. "I won't see you again, Kyreian." His voice dropped lower, and his gloved hands cradled her emotionless face. "You'll do this alone." What would happen if Xavier sent him after Kyreian? If the master couldn't have who he wanted, he killed them. Would I listen to him?

"If you are weak, then yes." Xavier's red eyes narrowed, and he caught the strong wave of fear drifting off of Tyrod easily. "You have survived this long. It would be . . . disappointing if you ceased to do so now." Letting his emotionless mask slowly fade, Xavier blinked slowly. The slightest of smiles graced his pale face, and the tall man lazily inspected his clawed hand. "I thought you strove for improvement, Tyrod."

((*purrs* It's alright, Marsyas. We'll be patient for a loooong while, deary.))
