Usually, roleplays centering around master/slave relationships dissolve relatively quickly into a mess of one-on-ones within the same thread (usually with a bunch of nekkidness or whatever involved; we won't go there for now). I've always found them to be rather boring for this reason.

I recall having seen a roleplay a year or two ago in this very forum that was a little different, however. The slave characters each had to wear collars with charms on them, each charm indicating that particular slave's purpose. The idea didn't branch out much and the roleplay disintegrated anyway, but the idea is still an interesting one in my opinion.

What if I were to start a roleplay set in a society in which slaves were considered a status symbol? In which slaves were used for much more than glorified s** toys? What if they were everything from pets to body-guards to companions to outright warriors?

These slaves, however, would not just be random species. Neither would the masters.

The slave population would be made up of human-like beings that can shape-shift into real animals (no dragons or unicorns or fox-demons). And the masters? They would be human-like as well, but much stronger and somewhat taller than the average adult male homo sapiens.

How would each master come to acquire his or her slave? One would be chosen for him/her. The process would involve careful examination of his or her personality, strengths and weaknesses, and character.
