King Dayton woke up and stretched his body. He glanced over at the empty side of the bed. He rolled his eyes. The queen was gone off on a mission of some sort. Usually when she was gone, the bed belonged to himself and his Indian beauty Jade. Sure she was the queen of the opposing kingdom, but he loved her none the less. This is what you did in a kingdom where marriage was a political thing. He grabbed a cloak off the chest at the end of the bed, not bothering to change. Its not like what he slept in was much different from what he wore on a daily basis. Weird huh?
He Wrapped himself in the cloak and snuck out through the underground exit. A very secret exit not even the queen knew about. He scurried across the plaza. No one took any notice of him, probably assuming he was a traveler. A thicket of forest lay just beyond the main square. That's where he and Jade would meet. He stood and shivered slightly. A slow breeze rolled by. It may have been a nice morning, but it still got cold. Dayton continued on starting to make bird calls with his hands and mouth. Cheating was not easy but it was worth it when he got. . . He tried nother to let his mind drift their just yet. Control. To be king he needed to be in control.
