Alice froze on the spot as she looked at the victim of the wine spillage. The liquid had stained his pants and part of his coat on the way to the floor. The wine's crimson colour reminded the vampire of blood. It was only then that she realized how truly unprepared she had attended the event. Her mind mulled over for a second, trying to figure out who or what she was going to feed off for three weeks when suddenly something strange caught her eye. Unless she was beginning to hallucinate, she was pretty sure she saw the broken glass lift itself from the floor and back onto the tray, all in one piece, almost like magic.
Alice's breathe caught in her throat at the thought. She was pretty certain that it was magic that had erased her memory and forced her to fast for 10 years. Whoever had fixed the glass could possibly be the person she was looking for. Her eyes glanced at Nikholas, then at the server until finally back on the stranger with the wine-stained outfit. She was sure the server couldn't have done it, so if there was anyone's mask she needed to remove, it was one of these two men. Yes, these two were the ones she would start with. But first she had to find the faerie king.
Adrenaline rushed through Alice at the thought of being soo close to finding out all the answers. As soon as the stranger finished speaking, she spoke up.
“It was an honest mistake,” The vampire blurted out, “I'm not too careful on my feet. But I apologize again for ruining your outfit. I can imagine how uncomfortable you must feel. Perhaps you should change now?”
Alice turned to Nikholas, too caught up in the heat of the moment to think before speaking.
“Nikholas,” She started again, before anyone could get a word in, “I don't suppose you know where the faerie king is at the moment. Can you take me to him? The king may be able to help us find our rooms.”
She then looked back at the golden masked stranger, “Once we help you find your room, you will be able to change. I feel like it's the least I can do for.. That's if, you don't already know where your room is..”
She trailed off, realizing that even though she was clueless at this event, it didn't mean that everyone else was. As soon as she'd finished, and also realized how much she had said, she withdrew back into her shell and fiddled with her dress's fabric. In a softer tone she spoke to Nikholas again; “Even if this gentleman doesn't require the king's help. Can you help me find him? I need to ask him something.”
