Aura looked up from her book briefly when she heard the front door open. It was either later than she thought, or Kris had gotten kicked out of another party, one of the two. Getting up from her chair, she marked her page and set her book down. Then she opened the door of the library and stepped out.

Picking her way delicately along the hall, managing to avoid at least eight individual shoes and a studded belt, she poked her head out onto the porch.

"Welcome back," she said when she saw her roommate. "How'd it go?"
