Kitiara blinked as a droplet of water found its way perfectly onto his nose. With a bit of a sigh, the cloaked figure tugged the hood lower. Pushing the door to an inn open, Kit advanced into the murky light inside. The startling violet eyes made a sharp contrast to the olive skinned man now eyeing the innkeep suspiciously - who was looking back at him with much the same expression. "I need a room for the week.. one with an actual mattress. And no rats." The man gave an uncharacteristic shudder as he laid out his 'needs' for a room.

The innkeep didnt move, but only narrowed his eyes farther at this clearly foreign man with such strange eyes. Unnatural, they were. " thatd be 10 gold and 3 silvers, if you be wanting yer meals."

Without blinking at the extortional price, the man dropped the coins, clinking, onto the dingy counter. "Twelve gold, and be sure to serve steak. No unidentified meat."

At the sight of the gold, the innkeeper became much more obliging, his beady eyes quickly assessing the man again. In a smooth, sugar coated voice, he led Kit up the stairs, "This way then, ill get yeh settled in yer room and fix up a spot 'o kip for yeh."

The innkeep left Kit standing in a tiny room with a key to its- Kit couldnt help but notice- lock that seemed far to easy to pick. The man, left to his own devices, perused the room, poking his nose into every corner and drawer. Finding the miniscule lavratory and the correspondingly dingy mirror, Kit spent a few minutes studying the unfamiliar face that looked back at him. Of course, every face he wore was unfamiliar. This visage was modeled after an old friend, deeply tanned olive skin framed by unruly black hair cut short. Only the deep amethyst eyes were ever the same. Apparently satisfied, Kit turned away from the mirror.

After a full meal by the hearth, Kit had relaxed, exotic looks attracting appreciative looks from the barmaids. He seemed not to notice, taking more interest in the few stragglers who had wandered in out of the weather.
