Hezza gave a short nod to Rion as he handed her the supplies. The rest of the evening seemed to pass in a bit of a daze. All she could think of was the way Slade had touched her and how she longed to speak with him. But she didn't know what to say. What could she say? And what would Rion do if he knew? She shuddered at the thought. She loved Slade, and she loved Rion... would Rion leave if he knew how much she cared for Slade? No, she would never let him leave. She'd never let any of them leave.

She was not a doctor, so Hezza did all she could do for Kai. When the doctor finally arrived, Hezza gratefully gave up the position as caretaker and silently wandered out into the yard. It was now growing later in the day, the sun was now beginning to sink towards the west... towards where the war was...

"Slade," she called, looking around the yard for him, hoping he was near.
