Thalmas looked over at her as she adjusted her cloak and skirts than he rested a hand on his sword at his hip, and offered her his arm. He was usually silent at first, but after a while, he began to loosen up. Especially when she began to speak to him. When he heard about the wedding being in a month, his brow furrowed, but he shrugged, frowning and looking over at her when she said the last few words.
"Princess... Not everyone has freedom to choose their future. Neither you, nor I. If the wedding is in a month, so be it. The child acts as he does because he is still maturing. I understand your strife, princess, but you must realize something. You mother and father never chose their life together, and they love each other. you never realize how much you love someone until you really get close to them. Give him a chance. He may just be the one you want." He said. He knew she would get frustrated with how emotionless he was being that night. But she needed to understand now hat she was royalty with responsibilities to her kingdom. And she was going to have to grow up and deal with that fact.
Turninghe walked towards the forests. Sheltering themselves from the view of castle guards around the gates was usually a wise idea, especially since Thalmas would get severely punished for bringing her outside the palace walls.
"Princess, I must ask you to think like a queen. once you are married to this man, my servitude to you is no longer. i am strictly to your palace, not his and yours. You will be given a different protector from his palace. I was only here to make sure you didn't die before you wed..." he said, knowing the words would be painfully blunt to her, but her needed to break their connection, even if he had to be cold and harsh, like his father was.
Sitting down deep in the forest on a log, he looked at the princess, his amber eyes glowing in the dark night, showing his beastly nature. He was the monster watching her night and day. His family's blood oath the only thing between her and his family's blade.
