Syl didnt make friends, usually being too hard headed and outspoken to keep anyone around, but both traits she's curbed at least a bit, in her dealings with the princess. You couldnt just tell your Empire's Princess to fend for herself, regardless. "Unless there is another healer in the village willing to come back to camp, yes, I'll have to return." She softened her words slightly by adding, "I will look for one, perhaps there will be someone willing."
