Final Fantasy VII would benefit from a tiny facelift. To be completely honest I still find the game very playable. The prerendered backgrounds are still beautiful, and of course lego-lookin' Cloud doing the squats would be very strange if VII was redone in a style similar to say.. XIII. And Kole you are right, if they remade VII with the talent they had right now, it would be missing something, which I think is the charm of the original game.
I am almost 100% certain that the only thing that would convince Square to remake VII is if they were on the verge of dying. It would be just like the release of the original FF.
I knew a guy in high school who loved VII and all the spinoffs and shit but never played the original game cause OMG GRAPHIX SUX and I wish I could hate him to death..
It is unfortunate that that CT remake got shut down as hard as it did. I think the original is fine the way it is, but the guys doing the remake weren't even going to charge money for it so when Square does do an actual remaster of the game it better be damn near perfect or I ain't goin' near that shit. It's not right that Square charges money for something like that when other people could possibly do a much better job for free and they do it out of love for the franchise.
I actually enjoy "most" of the recent games that Square has released/published. Except for new the new Kingdom Hearts and the stupid XIII fabula crystal nova bullshit. It is amusing to see Square still making a Lightning game even after the negative reception of XIII and XIII-2.
And why the HELL would they spread out Kingdom Hearts across like, 5 different gaming platforms? That is just fucked up. I think the whole story has gotten to stupid levels of convoluted but they need to show some fucking respect for their fanbase and don't make them buy every damn console on the market just so they can enjoy the franchise.
