Akai was right. Mason wasn't very warm, rather distant. Friendly, perhaps, but he didn't like to be close. He didn't know what to say to make someone feel better. But he was glad to see his light bandage worked out well, and grinned, and was rather sad to kow Akai had to leave, only to wake so early. He laughed a bit as Akai lost his footing and caught himself on one of the wooden frames, pulling the tie in his hair out and shaking his head a bit.

"I wouldn't say no to meeting you in the mess hall around lunch or dinner... Maybe both." He didn't mind spending time in public. There wasn't much privacy in a place like the compound, full of canvas housing and public bathing and eating, sleeping and existing. "I mean, making up too many excuses could get you shipped back home, hm?" He laughed a bit.
