He pulled a small burlap bag out of his heavy pack, a bag that was full of minty candy. Bangi, the horse they relied on, loved the stuff, and seemed a little bored simply standing around, even after a long day of walking. He licked the hard candies up when they were offered, shifting and stamping the ground as if in appreciation. Karth smiled, patting the horse's side and going back to the fire, taking out his knife and settling down on his pallet, taking out a sharpening stone and running it down his double-edged dagger. From time to time he glanced up as if Malik had returned.

The two had met a long time ago, it seemed. Some years ago, when they were young, of course. They had barely been teenagers, but neither was exactly old yet. Karth was just glad to know someone, really, glad that his lonely days were finally at an end. That he had someone to talk to. Play with. Train with. Learn from and at the same time, teach. He smiled a little, checking the blade and returning the stone to its pocket as a set of crunching footfalls met his ear. Karth turned to see Malik, and smiled in his direction. "Hey, I just got it! You wouldn't believe how close to the clearing this guy was." He moved over, unhooking the skinned fox and placing it flat to begin preparing it. They didn't have much to eat yet, just a few small birds they'd planned on splitting, but this was a good catch for the evening. Even if their trip was shot by bad luck, Karth didn't really mind.

"Did it take you long enough to find the pond?" Karth asked playfully, smiling a little. "You certainly took a good while." Of course he didn't mind, but he was glad, nonetheless, that Malik was back.
