Raven shook his head slowly. He didn't know what to do, really---he hadn't comforted someone in a long time, and didn't have any real words to offer him. Especially when he had nothing to say to help a being that had no idea what had transpired over the past several hundred years. He sighed, absently fingering his lip and the metal loop through it. What could he do, really?
When Salem came in, Zap's reaction wasn't surprising. He sat aside, pulling Zap upright a bit. "It's okay, Zap---he can't hurt you." Nonetheless, he scooped Salem up and petted him slowly, taking him to the door. "Sorry, bud. You have to stay out a while longer." Scratching Salem's chin, he set the cat on the floor outside the door and nudged him away, and with a small mew, Salem ran off. Raven closed the door and looked back to Zap. "It's okay." He promised. "He didn't mean to hurt you like he had---he's got a hunter's instinct and sometimes he doesn't know when to stop." He grimaced, approaching Zap again. "Are you okay...?"
