It looked like her idea had failed, the stranger started to use her whirlwind as a means to kill the remaining few with an exhale of breath, the wind stopped and span on the spot for a few seconds, before dispersing, the debris it had been carrying dropped lifelessly to the ground once more. This man that had saved her.. her opinion of him was changing as each lifeless body fell to the ground. There was nothing to be gained from killing scared cowards, from the empire or not, she wasn't going to stand around and watch him slaughter anymore, it was making her feel sick to her stomach.
Of the two that still seemed to show signs of life, the one that had tried to attack her with a sword was the first the stranger tried to interrogate. Questions were asked but no answers given, Nahele turned and limped towards the nearest tree, choosing to sit behind it with her back to what was going on. Less than a second after she'd sat amongst the dead leaves to check her ankle did she hear a sickening snap that sent her stomach churning. This left the soldier with the bullet wound, he had probably seen what had happened and knew he wouldn't recover from his injury, but would he tell this man what he needed to know? If only to be put out of his misery?
Now that things had quietened down, she began to think back over the days events and up until they approaching the forest, everything had gone smoothly. But then the images of her bodyguards being slaughtered came to mind and she wrapped both arms tightly around her stomach. "Why do you think they attacked us?" Finally she spoke, unaware of what was going on behind her. "We knew about your kingdoms bloody reputation and advanced technology before we agreed to the treaty. There was always the possibility this would happen, so twice as many bodyguards were sent." She paused for only a few seconds. "Your emporer must have known about our magic and created shields to make our only means of attacks useless. Attacking the party sent for the purpose of peace.. he's trying to start another war, isn't he?"
