When the door opened it took a moment to register in Jake's molasses-slow, sleep-deprived mind. He stopped short when he saw Dan, stun gun in hand, pointed to him, speaking. The words took a second to hit, as before. He shook his head, squared his shoulders, and narrowed his eyes. "Oh, fuck you, you crazy quack bastard." He growled. "Psycho freak, creep..."

"Shut up." Dan's voice was low, growling, steady, but his eyes showed deadly intent. "Move. Now."

Jake shook, his hands clenched so tightly at his sides his nails were digging hard into his palms. "Unnatural... psycho." His voice was low, less determined now. He didn't want that gun to hit him, even if it would just let off a painful, debilitating electrical charge. His body was heated painfully, so he stepped forward. At a loss of what to say, Jake turned to the scientist as he pressed the gun to his back in warning, hand on the trigger that would knock him down and out, and hissed an open-mouth, meaningless hiss, something similar to what Dan's 'pet' would make. Dan prodded him forward, shoving him out the door and putting a hand on his shoulder. Jake was looking around for the 'pet'.
