Ellie stood up and brushed herself off before doing some snooping of her own. "A foreclosure notice," she exclaimed. She wasn't sure how that could be possible. Her mother alone spent hundreds here a month, and she wasn't the only one. Ella had picked up the notice, but dropped it back on the desk when Alex told her she should go on ahead.

The red-headed girl shrugged. Usually he let the whole gang in on his traps, each of them playing their own part. Perhaps he still would, and that's why he was sending her on. But Ellie wouldn't question him now anyway. He was clearly in the zone. Besides, she trusted him. She was staring at him dreamily again. Finally, she snapped out of it, shaking her head lightly.

Ellie moved out of the basement, climbing a set of stairs to the first floor. It was so dark everywhere. She used her phone again, like she had in the basement, to light her way. Suddenly it beeped loudly, twice. The tell tale sign that the device was about to die. "Oh no," she whispered, "Don't die on me now!"

She heard a door close up ahead. "Alex?" she questioned. But how could he have gotten ahead of her? Was it the ghouls? Ellie rounded a corner, smacking right into Sarah. She dropped her phone and the light went out. "Ow!" she exclaimed, rubbing at her forehead. "Sarah?"
