Hours of walking later, Janus was forced to concede that It was hopelessly lost.

While normally it doesn't matter where It ended up, since It was wandering everywhere anyway in the first place, the air was starting to feel wrong to the fire demon. There was a certain stickiness to it now, which meant that wherever It was headed towards, it's Not Dry. However, there was only one path before It, so it was either to continue down the road to what may lead to some sort of body of hated water, turn back which meant wasting the past few hours and the possibility of running into that mad old hag of a medusa again, or braving it and go straight into the foliage on the sides and possibly become even more lost.

Janus paused in the middle of the road, thinking over the options. Then it shrugged, and turned to the right, where tall dark trees spanned beyond the naked eye could see. Braving it it was. And if It managed to accidentally start a few forest fires along the way...well, it wasn't like Its reputation could get any worse than it already was, could it?
