Sai's pale eyes widened as the mantis mimicked Sycom's movements. The agent lowered his gun slowly, not quite sure what to think anymore. What ... the hell was going on? A confused expression found its place on his features, and Sai merely stood in silence. His head ached again. While adrenaline had chased off the influence of alcohol, it certainly hadn't rid his system of the substance itself.

The silver-haired agent stared in silence, trying to process the battle and the shifting of tides and alliances. Was there even any sense to all this?

It was strange to hear Ashes' true name - Skywalker. Sai's attention snapped to where Ashes stood with Volkov, and he slowly felt the lavender aura about him warm. There were so many elites. The people surrounding Remy were important - very important. Sai's pale gaze flickered over each of them, taking in their auras and noting that they were about to fight a very serious, very important battle. This was no longer a game of "kill the monster and save the world." This was another game. This one was riddled with subterfuge and deception. They were already losing.

As Sai stood thinking, Vlad turned his attention fully to Artemis. Discord moved away, though Vlad said nothing to him.

"Come,"
he repeated the word firmly when Artemis didn't move quickly enough. He grasped the woman's wrist, pulling her with him. Vlad's teal eyes were locked on Remy and the others. There were plenty of men to kill.

There was a flux in power, however, that drew Vlad's gaze. Discord. Something was ... wrong? The youth was focused on Remy. Vlad frowned, but just as his attention moved back to Artemis he heard the sound of crumbling stone. Vlad looked back just in time to witness Discord's sacrifice. Artemis was the only figure to notice a sudden drop in temperature. It was more like the immediate surroundings were frosted, and Vlad himself fell still.

Staring at the fallen building, the criminal wasn't ... sure what to feel. The boy meant nothing to Vlad, didn't he? Yet, as teal eyes continued to survey the unmoving rubble, Vlad began to question the importance of the one criminal who'd always been the one to counter him. Discord wasn't a friend, but ... he wasn't an enemy. What was he? Did that even matter now?

Vlad's cold expression didn't shift from its usual emotionless mask, and he watched Shadow look around for Discord. His rage returned with a burning edge - he was restless, ready for another battle. He'd just witnessed the loss of ... well, a team member. Multiple team members. Others had been lost with the bomb. Then ... this. His grip on Artemis' wrist tightened painfully, but he pulled her behind him as they neared the others. Strangely, he kept himself between the elites and his ally.

Sai heard the building tumble, and he swiftly shifted his gaze in that direction. He couldn't see through the rubble, which meant he couldn't read Discord's aura. Was the boy alive? Not likely. The frantic changes in emotion were altering everyone's auras, filling them with flashes of light and spark. It was so chaotic.

The agent cringed at the sounds of Vex and Sycom's pain. Without a second though, he lifted a thin blade and fingered it lightly. Sai moved closer to his allies - Ashes and Volkov - looking partially lost. He'd fight when needed.

((Note: Sai's having a partial numb breakdown moment. Poor guy just isn't built for the field.))
