Naru's eyes were very wide when Sorrel spoke of cutting his tail, they got even wider when the other stood and gripped his tail. That knife came down towards it and Naru's body tensed a lot, and he squeezed his eyes shut tightly. That tail twitched and Naru did squirm and wriggle. He even whimpered softly. This was dangerous. Things were getting too dangerous, and he wasn't even sure he could escape.
The pain never came, instead there was the sound of the knife hitting the floor when it was dropped. Those eyes opened and he looked at Sorrel a bit uncertain, maybe even a little afraid. He spoke, but all that came out was a muffled sound, after all, Sorrel had gagged him minutes ago. He scowled at that though and made more muffled sounds.
