"True, not everyone is the same" Harry said agreeing when Malfoy stated the facts on the users would have to be directly on time and how hard it would be to do it all the time. Learning something like that would take alot of time that the ministry wouldn't want to waste on something so...trivial. Harry knew everyone used to think of him as one of the greatest people they would meet, that is until they found out he wasn't as great as all that, and the only thing he had going for him that made him popular was the scar on his forehead.
"Never put much thought into why people wanted to be my friend back then" Now he was starting to wonder who was really his friends and what was their reason. Was it just because he was the famous Potter, the famous 'Boy Who Lived' destined to take down Voldemort once and for all to end the reign of terror that Voldemort created? "So you were only extending that friendship because I was going to be the one who was supposed to be the hero or because your father told you to?" he didn't like the sound of that at all, that wasn't friendship. Friendship was something you built out of a random ordeal, not because someone was popular and it would help you in return; Harry had glanced up to talk then back to his book closing it.
"Rare handshake? So this 'rare handshake' as you call it was your reason to befriend me, correct? See this is why we never would have gotten along even if we 'were' friends Dr-Malfoy" Harry almost slipped up saying the other boy's first name instead which he didn't get why, probably to make sure the other was listening to him. "Suppose I did take your hand back then, would anything be any different from now? I doubt the two of us can get along for any longer than an hour. And I'm guessing I would be just like your two lackies Crabbe and Goyle who follow you around with fear of you hexing them." Harry noticed it had only been forty minutes since they began reading, taking notes, and thinking as well as socializing. As well as talking about things that he didn't expect to talk about at all.
"Yea, I don't know why you are either. You don't have to answer anything I ask and it has nothing to do with the project. Forget I asked anything about it, I'm done for today, we can continue this project tomorrow or something. I'll get started on finding some of the ingredients" Harry stood up taking his books with him to leave the blonde in the room by himself. If he stayed any longer this was going to become a much larger argument than it needed to be and that wouldn't do so well with his mood.
