Keeping her amusement from seeing Draco jump from being startled, Kate sighed through a huff knowing something was up, she may not have been most knowledge in useless things such as Granger was, but she did know when something was wrong with her house mate. "Alright, Draco. What's wrong? You rarely give me an attitude unless there is a one or more people in the room. Seeing as the portraits don't come into this room for any reasons or the ghosts, there is no reason to be harsh" and she wasn't in the mood honestly to deal with anyone to begin with since she was overly tired as well. Moving her blanket from her lap while putting her book down that she marked with her favorite non-wilting flower, Kate stood up without her dress shoes on; she hated those dress shoes wanting to either go barefoot through the school or wear flats or boots.
Walking over to him she sat down on the floor with a look that proved she knew something was up, but her body refused to move too much farther than it did. The floor to her was comfortable almost as much as the chair she was cuddled into was. "I know more than the others do Draco, we said we were friends after we met having an understanding with each other the last time those years ago. What is wrong?" she had a back up plan if she didn't get him to answer her even slightly. She knew even though they probably weren't friends, they were closer than they would have been with anyone else, sort of like brother and sister that is. "And by the way blondie, this is important" she could tell that much, she was quite skilled at understanding others through their emotions. Probably because of the way she was raised and then her family name was unknown, yet she had the same level as the Malfoys did. No one understood why she never stated her family name and not even Draco knew it. No one, except herself well that is for now. She had a planned time to tell everyone at once, but it was still a year or so away. Hopefully. The only way Kate ever got away with talking to Draco like a child was because he was the main Slytherin she spoke to, not that he was the only person out of the school, but he was easier to listen and speak to.
After the detention with Umbridge Harry left trying to seem casual as he didn't bring any attention to himself. Umbridge explained to him before he left that there was only one spell that could heal something such as from her quill and not a single student would know it. Not even Granger since it was a particularly dark spell, but that didn't mean anything to him. He ignored anyone who tried to talk to him, he wanted to get back to try an easing pain spell, unsure if that would even work since this was due to Umbridge's quill. She probably thought about every option someone would try in order to feel better after using it. Once into the Gryffindor common room he was bombarded with Hermione and Ron asking about how the detention worked.
"It was just like any other detention, just had to write "I will not tell lies" about well like a million times" he had sarcasm in his voice and he wasn't about to explain anything else about what happened to him in there. "I'm going to bed, I'll see you guys in the morning" he left them sitting on the couch as he went straight for his room, not running, but not too slow either. Once alone he pulled his sleeves back, all over both arms were etched out lines 'I will not tell lies' even though he was against what he wrote, he felt it was against him too as the pain began to worsen. Every time he thought about how wrong it was for him to be punished for telling the truth, his cuts would make him feel the pain all over again, and it wasn't going away any time soon. What was he supposed to do? If he felt like he deserved it, would the pain stop? Would it fade away on his arms and go away completely? Or would it try to return? He didn't know much about that quill, but he hated every minute of that detention. "I would rather have detention with Snape than her again" Harry said to himself in a low whisper knowing that meant something in the long run.
