Hey, if you're into roleplay you could also try setting up a request thread in the Roleplay Hall. :) That might help get the ball rolling.
You can request to roleplay with fandoms that you're a part of and people who also like that fandom can join in with you, or you can find a common ground with characters, ideas, plots, etc.

When I first joined Mene, I also wanted to get involved in RP because I haven't done it since mid 2011. It didn't take too long to find RP partners, and now that I have them it's actually very enjoyable to RP. You can even browse some of the other RP request threads and find plots, ideas, characters, fandoms that you like and start a RP with the person who's looking.
