I've been trying to find the time to accompany my boyfriend on a survey as his "volunteer," and I finally had the chance this week. We had a grand ol' time measuring the diameter of hemlock trees, counting foliage and looking for infestations. He got paid for this work, I did it out of the goodness of my heart.
