Mrs. Browne laughed a bit. "Exciting, Miss? I'm not sure I'd know the the difference, as I haven't anything else to compare it to, but I will say it was far more exciting when Lord Rathingar used to host balls and house parties. But that was before his marriage..." She led Miss Bronte to the second floor, then into a long hallway. In the dim candle light it was difficult to tell what color the wallpaper was, but Mrs. Brown was sure footed as she continued to the second to last door on the right side of the hall. She opened the door, and gestured for Miss Bronte to go before her, knowing that this suite of rooms had been freshly cleaned and prepared for Miss Bronte.

"I do hope you like your rooms. You have a small study in addition to the main room, and the bath room does have running water, hot as well as cold."
