"What have you been reading all day that's so much more interesting than me? I remember when I first served you at the diner and I had all your attention."

Pedro heard the sound and crouched low, his ears alert at the top of his head. It was just around the corner, not too far from home. He ranged, but never forgot the home he gained, always keeping it within sight or smell. Now though, he couldn't deny his curiosity. Sneaking closer, the young cat moved toward the disturbance in time to hear another cat run off with a howl. Pedro poked his head around the corner, still looking far too cautious. "Hello?" he meowed. "Aaaanyone? Are we playing?"
