Appearance
Shiki stands at a tall six foot two inches and holds the body type of a Mesomorph. His skin is a warm tan color, his hair raven black and a bit unruly due to his constantly wearing a hat. He has a small goatee, and his eyes are a dusty golden brown color. He has a series of tattoos along his upper body, including: an intricate heart and face design on his chest, a heart design on both biceps, a circle design on both forearm, a circle design on the back of both hands, a face design on his back and the word Death across the fingers of his right hand. He is also always wearing two small earrings within the lobes of both ears.

Personality
Shiki is the 'strong silent type', often quiet for the most part. He gives off an air of intimidation, often causing him to be avoided by those around him. His presence commands respect, he holds himself to high reguards. This means, he's most of the time standing up straight and tall. Even when he is slouching though, he still gives off quite a powerful presence. When he does talk, he is most of the time one of two ways. He can be calm and a man of few words, or completely cold and rude.

He often has a careless and indifferent attitude to most things in life. Despite him coming off as not giving a damn about people, he wont ever just sit by when someone is being overpowered or intimidated. He hates those who use their power over another for their own gain and treat people like tools or beneath them. This will cause him to often step in and make those doing so very sorry. He also can't stand cockiness, those who flaunt themselves and what they've got over others.

He is fiercely loyal and protective to the few people he does care for and is nice to. However, he has a series of strong walls keeping him cut off from people and the outside world. Getting past those walls and leaving enough of a mark on him is never easy. Once done though, he will always have that person's back. At the same time, if he is ever betrayed by a person close to him, he is one to hold a grudge.

He will become cold and dark towards them, unable to let them back in and fully let go. He is capable of being charming, a very smart young man. He is strong willed and hearted, he will push himself to limits and beyond in order to protect and reach his goals. He is a man of honor as well, he wont fight an unarmmed person or women if it can be avoided. He is respectable and a gentleman to women as well, holding a surprisingly soft and tender side if he desires.

He is capable of a ruthless side, though it is hard to trigger such from him. This side of him leads him to live up to the name and nickname's he's been given. During this time he will attack, whether verbally or physically, at the weakest points of a being. He comes off as completely unforgiving and icy, slipping more into the facade of not giving a damn and simply seeing everything as a disgusting waste of time. Afterwords he often shuts down and withdraws on himself.

This causes him to stop talking altogether, he will appear empty and hollow, will often let whatever happen to him and possibly not even attempt to fight back. He treats himself more like a soldier often times than a person, someone who doesn't personally hold much value. He often sees his own purpose for being as being there to use himself for others. This could either be in protecting them, or simply taking the weight that others can not bare. He is a mystery, but not the monster that people might believe at first glance.

Powers/Abilities
Shinigami Physiology: Shiki has the power of a death god, this gives him a variety of boosts, such as enhanced conditioning, enhanced combat and weapon proficiency. This also gives him the ability to safely 'release' souls from a body through physical contact. Often times when releasing a soul, he is able to purify it and heal it. He is also able to sense death or the coming of it around him. This allows him to sense the corrupted souls near and track them as well. This ability also gives him the ability to cause death and decay or corrosion through physical touch as well. With a touch, things will begin to rot and decay, breaking apart and dying. The speed of the condition varies depending on his will and the contact, as well as can only be removed from him. This ability often mirrors that of a poison moving through the body. This power also slows down his aging and makes him more resistant to death itself, through poisons, wounds, etc.

Astral Manipulation: Shiki holds the power to manipulate energy on an astral or soul level. This can allow him to create constructs, use attacks, defend and more. It also allows him to project his soul from his body, or assist others in doing so. While he does this though, his physical body is left vulnerable. If his body is harmed, his soul becomes trapped in the astral realm. Shiki is able to absorb astral energy, often draining it from other living creatures around him if need be. This will leave the one being drained feeling sluggish and tired, possibly unable to use power or fight for a given time. He can store the energy inside him for later use, but this can cause trouble if he gains to much at once. It will attempt forcing its' way out, or using to much can leave him drained or kill him. If he takes to much from one source at a time, he could potentially kill them as well. His emotions often trigger changes and spurs of this energy within him. When using this power, the tattoos on his body will possibly glow, depending on the level of energy he is releasing. He is able to use this energy to accelerate healing within himself, as well as transfer it to others. This transfer can either boost their own power, or heal them as well. He is able to imbue this energy into objects, amplifying weapons, or using them for various other things.

Biography
Shiki comes from a very...unique family and those within the city know it. His father is a businessman, his mother a Spiritual Consultant. To many, this translates to Black Market and Witchcraft. It is true that Shiki's father has powerful and dangerous ties, but he's never been convicted of anything. Still, this never stopped the whispers and rumors constantly circulating around. When Shiki was born, his mother gave him the name Shikabaneno Kiritsu, which roughly translates to Discipline of Death, or Discipline of a Nightmare.

Such a name anything but easy for a child. He already came from a family people thought were running a Mafia Cult or something, leading to most people being straight out afraid of him. He grew up as a kid with few friends within his life. Most of the people who associated with him were there to tease or torment him. Eventually, he had enough, this leading to the beginning of a childhood riddled with fights.

His reputation grew more and more like that of his parents. He became someone to avoid or fear, unless you either wanted to get your ass kicked or had a death wish. This is where the nickname of Shiki began to arise, referring to him as a demon or something of the like. Few took the time to ever get to know him, so he spent most of his time alone. From a younger age, he showed an interest in tattoo's, and thus his collection began.

Being busy with work, his parents were rarely ever around, which made him have to learn early to take care of himself. Being a wealthy family, he did have staff to take care of him while his family traveled, but even many of them were afraid of him. They saw him as volatile and hard to handle. His rebellious nature causing him at times to clash with his father, who wanted him to be the prim and proper gentleman like him.

Both commanded respect within their lives in their own ways, though despite the rumors and what was on the surface, Shiki was always an excellent student. High grades, teachers often surprised to see such from him based on face value and what they witnessed within person. He was questioned at times about his work, under the suspicion of having others do it for him, but always proved it was he himself.

Shiki has always had talent for music and art, having been raised on lessons. He prefers the guitar or drums, though he is trained in more classical instruments like the violin and piano. At the same time, due to his Japanese liniage, he has been training in the art of Bushido all his life just like his father. Contrary to his reputation, Shiki is rarely ever the one to instigate a fight, not the one to throw the first punch.
