Mira had been oblivious to the traveler behind him until he suddenly found a cloak wrapped around him. He nearly jumped out of his skin, making the slightest startled noise as he turned to face the woman. Those blue eyes wide with fear, then a brief flash of relief that was quickly replaced by uncertainty. The chains that linked his wrists together clinked softly as he moved his hands, grasping at the cloak with slender fingers. Holding it tight around him, glad for the warmth but not quite sure what was expected of him in return.

The woman had spoken to him also, and he looked her over carefully. Trying to determine what social standing she held, certainly above him but not by much. She couldn't have possibly been sent to recapture him, she didn't look the type...or did she? Mira really couldn't tell. Certainly soldiers wouldn't have been hired. Mercenaries probably. This woman could be a mercenary, as he really didn't know what a mercenary might look like. She had asked him a question though, and he was most certainly expected to answer, wasn't he?

Mira was uncertain of what kind of rules he was supposed to follow now that he was far from his master. He bit his bottom lip and took a few steps away from her, quite suddenly averting his gaze to the floor. He had been staring at her for far more time than was proper for one of his standing. But did those rules apply out here? He didn't know. He didn't know anything at all.

"These are my only clothes, Lady." His voice was soft, gentle and full of uncertainty and fear. She had mentioned food, but no one would buy him a full meal, that just wasn't how things were done. Was it? He had wanted to escape that world of rules, restrictions and punishments. Almost certain that beyond the walls of his master's estate those rules didn't exist, but now. Face to face with another person, Mira was not certain of anything anymore.

He lifted his gaze a bit, to chance a glance at her face. She seemed sincere, and that only made him more uncertain. That crystal blue gaze dropped back to the floor and he shifted on his feet slightly. "I am happy with whatever you deem appropriate for me to eat, Lady." His heart was hammering hard in his chest, was that the proper response? He didn't know, no one inside the estate would offer to buy a slave a meal. They would generally offer scraps.

The woman had also said something about a chat. People didn't tend to chat with slaves, could that be a normal occurrence beyond the walls that had kept him prisoner for his whole life? Mira seemed more confused with every passing second. He glanced at the tables for a moment, trying to figure out which one would be the most pleasing for this woman to sit at.
