I think it usually does. When the older Germans would look over and just start talking to me I would panic and try to remember how to say, "I'm sorry, I don't speak German." Forgot every time. Does not function well under pressure when it comes to languages xD SO I would end up just nodding and laughing if they laughed.... awkward....
